A new video narrated by FUT Associate Producer Marcel Kuhn discusses and shows some of the changes and improvements coming to FIFA 15 Ultimate Team. Some of these include Concept Squads, Friendly Seasons, the ability to Loan Player(s), and also 50+ Legends (exclusively on Xbox).

However, not all is perfect in FUT-world. With so many users attempting to cheat and scam others, the FUT Trade Offers feature has been removed from FIFA 15. Also aiding in user security, players using the FUT 15 Web App will need to sign in via Origin for an extra layer of security.

We're not sure what's worse: Those working to ruin the experience for others by misleading and cheating them or the people who fall for such scams. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Either way, these exploits have led to a popular aspect of the mode being removed.

At this week's GameStop Expo, NBA 2K revealed a new mode coming exclusively to the last-gen (PS3 & 360) versions of the game, entitled 2K Heroes. This unique mode features eight different teams helmed by current and former NBA players including Clyde Drexler, Stephen Curry, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Michael Jordan, Shaquille O'Neal, David Robinson, and James Worthy with the five-man rosters selected by each respective captain.

In 2K Heroes, users will be able to select their choice of team and play against any of the other squads. The team that has the most victories by the All-Star Weekend will 'win' the competition and 2K Sports will make a donation to the charity of that respective team's captain.

While many companies have either abandoned the last-gen consoles or are only putting out legacy editions (updated rosters), 2K Sports deserves credit for making these versions of NBA 2K15 unique entries in the series. According to vgchartz, the last-gen versions of NBA 2K14 accounted for nearly 70% of that edition's sales, so continuing strong support for these consoles is a very wise economic decision. ...

Per a graphic on the EA SPORTS NBA LIVE 15 product page, the game now appears to be delayed until October 28. It had originally been listed and announced for October 7, the same date as competitor NBA 2K15.

UPDATE - From Executive Producer Sean O'Brien:

Considering all the work that’s gone in so far, we will be taking a few extra weeks to polish the game and make sure you get an incredible NBA experience from the moment you first boot up the title. This extra development time means we will be moving our launch date to October 28 to line up to opening night of the 2014-15 NBA season. This was a hard decision, but it’s the right one, as we are totally committed to delivering the highest-quality game we possibly can. You’ll be hearing a lot more from us over the coming weeks, starting with a brand-new gameplay blog that will give you the first details on all the ways we plan to deliver on our promises to build a better experience.

As I said, we’re very proud of the improvements we’ve made in NBA LIVE 15, and we believe with some additional time, our game will reach its full potential.

Coinciding with the start of the 2014 season, Zynga has launched NFL Showdown. As part of its new Zynga Sports 365 series, the mobile developer aims to increase demand for sports-based mobile games with this title that is based on the NFL's popular Fantasy Football game. The Maitland, Florida based studio includes numerous former EA SPORTS staffers, including some from the Madden NFL and NCAA Football franchises.

In NFL Showdown, which is free, gamers join a league with 31 other random players. The goal is to win a monthly Super Bowl, or at least to get into the playoffs and advance to a more difficult league with more experienced players.
Gamers prepare their star players and roster for upcoming games by training them and making sure they are all healthy. There’s a free agent auction, where you can acquire new players before a game starts.

“The game focuses on the strategy of running a team,” said Jason Shenkman, who also came from EA Sports. “I think the experiences are very, very similar to Fantasy Football. It’s a mobile version of that, but we wanted to have players go in, update it and go on about their day.”

Other game displays show team standings, NFL logos and player names. The game features a “health kit” you can use to heal injured players, a lightning bolt to give them extra energy and skill points that can be applied to your players’ rating. Having friends online helps in acquiring more energy or health. There’s “money” in the game, too. “Every time you win a game you get money, and money means something, because you have to pay salaries of your players,” Shenkman said.
