EA SPORTS has posted their Madden NFL 15 prediction for Super Bowl XLIX with the New England Patriots defeating the defending champion Seattle Seahawks 28-24.

The EA SPORTS Madden simulation prediction has correctly predicted the Super Bowl winner in eight of the last eleven years, though last year it predicted a 31-28 OT victory for Denver. The Broncos were ultimately routed by Seattle 43-8.

The weekly NBA LIVE 15 roster (ratings) update is now available. The largest increases belong to Rudy Gobert (+4), Hassan Whiteside (+3), Alex Len (+3), Andrew Wiggins (+3), and Kevin Seraphin (+3). The most significant decreases are attributed to Derrick Rose (-2) and Dwight Howard (-2). The update also revises depth charts, accessory updates, et al. A blog and spreadsheet detailing this week's changes is currently available at the official NBA LIVE product website.

There is no major content update with this update, leaving many LIVE fans wondering if/when additional face scans, shoes, and perhaps additional content will be coming to the game. It is expected (but not confirmed or supported by any statement from EA) that any potential next round of content will arrive in conjunction with the update that adds in the correct 2015 All-Star Game court and rosters. The similar update for NBA LIVE 14 arrived a week before the All-Star game, which would put an ETA around February 8 for LIVE 15. ...

White Knuckle IP, LLC has sued Electronic Arts claiming that the company infringed on their 2002 patent that described a methodology where sports games would be updated based on real-life events during a season. The accused products include NCAA Football 10-14 and Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10-14. In the complaint, White Knuckle did not indicate any specific offending feature(s).

The original patent by White Knuckle IP, LLC in 2002 reflected a time when console games could not be updated easily, however patches/updates existed for PC gaming before 2002.

While NCAA Football included updated uniforms and field art, it is unknown what mid-season updates the Tiger Woods PGA TOUR franchise included. It seems that White Knuckle may be targeting these franchises as they would appear in some regards to be defunct - NCAA Football on hiatus at best (discontinued at worst) with Tiger Woods PGA TOUR skipping a 2014 calendar release to rebrand itself in 2015 as simply EA SPORTS PGA TOUR.

A true player and stadium/arena mid-season update system is included in almost every current sports title published today (by numerous publishers) and many with larger sales numbers than NCAA Football or Tiger Woods PGA TOUR. Perhaps the plaintiffs felt the need to attempt to reach a decision or settlement with these franchises before a potential statute of limitations was reached. ...

A new game update is now available for NHL 15 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The patch includes updates across numerous game modes including Hockey Ultimate Team, Be a GM mode, OTP, and more. The update is the fifth for the game since its release on September 9.

Another roster/ratings update is now available for NBA LIVE 15. The update included updated depth charts, player movement, injury, and accessory updates.

Based on the previous roster update, it appears the game can now move players to new squads without an in-game update. This would allow recent trades and signings to be reflected automatically in-game an hour after a game where they play with their new squad.

The update also added cover athlete Damian Lillard's signature shoe, the D Lillard 1 by adidas. ...
