My personal opinion is that it's hard for me to believe that any major publisher is going to put an extra set of used DRM onto game titles because that wouldn't put them in a good spot, right?
This is basically my thoughts. Yes you are right. Theoretically, EA could come out and make me run a mile in under 5 minutes bench press 700 pounds enter in a 1 billion digit code that if not entered within 2 minutes self-destructs before allowing me to play Madden.
However, Sony's made it clear that DRM is wrong and they do not encourage it or support it through its hardware. IF EA (some other publisher) goes with the 5/700/1,000,000,000 challenge (or some other ridiculous DRM that isn't justified) I'm out and I'll laugh and post all the hilarious stuff on the net that bashes EA's reputation.
EDIT: That's all I wanted. IF EA someone else institutes something I don't agree with I won't purchase their product but will have the ability to purchase products whose policies I agree with or at least accept.
"That's just something that we've always wanted to do," says Rohde. "It's not a plan that changed based on what Microsoft has been saying over the past month or two. It's just, 'Oh, I guess we should emphasize this now,' because it's a serious point of advantage for us. So let's have a little fun with it, basically."
that's interesting that (if you believe this) "just like PS3" was their plan and then MS' debacle turned it into a selling feature.
