Do I think Hoke would take any job if enough money was thrown at him? Sure.
I don't. He's wanted to be at Michigan for years, said it was his dream job, and has been rather vocal about that.

Note I also didn't name my own coach. Therefore is he dirty? I note that was the only possibility you questioned.
    Dirty, no.
Evidence suggests other things though. :p

Don't get too upset about it, I was mainly commenting to see if you'd thought through the major programs as you implied.

Do I think Hoke would take any job if enough money was thrown at him? Sure. I think 99.9% of coaches would do that. I think Chris Petersen might be the only exception. Pat Fitzgerald probably should have been on the list too. Some might call that greedy. Some might call that business savvy. That's for each to form their own opinion.

Also, "scum", when you consider that this line of conversation started with G and Mors, may, in fact, have absolutely nothing to do with "dirty". So, again, don't read into comments about Hoke as if I'm some Buckeye troll that you haven't known for years.
Actually, I think you just weren't considering Michigan among the "Top25 competitive programs".

Utah State coach Gary Andersen called every one of his players after news broke, going to #Badgers. Took till 2:30 am. 106 calls or so.
Now that's how it should be done.

Absolutely true. And I believe him. But I've believed other coaches that have said the same thing. So I'm hesitant to place the "trust" label on practically any coach, including Hoke. I'm glad to see him at UM, and I think he's a great fit there. I hope he stays for a long time and has some great battles with us.

I can't say I thought through EVERY major program (Frank Beamer comes to mind). But I did specifically consider Hoke before posting that. Because I knew you'd come at me either way I did know that he said Michigan was his dream job. But I had to think about whether or not I trusted that above everything else. And I'm not sure. I guess part of it is that Hoke hasn't had that "prove it to me" moment yet. Petersen has had other schools come at him, and he's stayed. Hoke and some other newer coaches haven't fought that temptation yet.

Nah. That was just under Carr and RichRod.

ROFL, you'll have to get past the RR years.

Carr's record speaks for itself, not that he isn't above some serious criticism.

I honestly don't think Hoke will have to or want to.....he's not Harbaugh with illusions of grandeur......Hoke is like Bo or Carr through and through.....except more aggressive than Carr.

Carr just stayed too long, it seemed like. I know he was a quality coach (namely because I remember the tail end of the Cooper years vividly), but the record against Tressel and then the App State game ... it's hard to reconcile that against where they were at the tail end of the 90s.

True. And it's not like some other school can give him an offer better than "Head Coach, Michigan". More money, maybe. But you're probably right that he wouldn't take it.

Does that mean that FIU will be joining a different conference than CUSA?

He said he wasn't going to leave, but he also didn't think the sanctions were going to be that rough.

Personally I think this would be a bad move on his part. I don't think he's ready for the NFL. I know I'm in the minority but I didn't think he did that great of a job this year. He definitely had the benefit of a very weak Big Ten this year

PSU players can still transfer with no penalty, correct?

There are reports that Chip Kelly has an interview with Buffalo on Friday. I'd assume he is probably on his way out.

If he goes to Buffalo, would he be a Buffalo Chip?

If he goes to Buffalo, it's going to be a death sentence for his chances to be successful. Unless he's magically able to find a good spread QB that has some legs so he can start running the spread QB option as well.

When was the last time a fad in the NFL (aka, the spread option) that caused a college coach to jump to the NFL actually become successful? I want to say never.

Even with the sanctions, I think that's a smart move.

Yep. The situation in Cleveland is always worse. Permanent Death Penalty.

I think they would need a pulse first!

If/when Kelly leaves Oregon, I can't help but think it is more due to avoiding the NCAA (Wille Lyles issues) than some 'accomplished my goals here; wanting a bigger challenge' talking point we'll probably hear.

Well, if it was a "fad", then probably not, because calling it a fad would almost guarantee that it was unsuccessful and short lived. But there have been collegiate offenses that have transitioned successfully to the NFL.
