Yes, but, for the most part, any issues that they have with bugs and things are graphics card related and easily fixed with an update or some settings changes and they're rarely gamebreaking.

Sadly, you are definitely correct. The embracing of the casual gamer has killed video games though (thus my stand that older games are better). Everything points toward handholding the player through most of the game with little deviation (at least in US games).
