I definitely think it's the whole father figure thing. He thinks of Andrea and thought of Amy as his daughters after all the shit went down with the zombies. He's worried about Andrea. First it was because Amy got bit and Andrea had to watch her die. Then he wanted to protect Andrea from something like that happening to her (again, father figure of him being overprotective of Andrea because he felt like he lost a daughter with Amy dying). Then, the whole thing at the CDC and Andrea wanting to kill herself. And, now, we have her getting with the bad boy of the group and Dale knowing how Shane really is (borderline insane and definitely a bit psychotic) so Dale wants to protect her (again, father figure thinking he knows what's best for Andrea).
Sadly, the Andrea/Dale dynamic has turned into a predictable daddy issues girl (Andrea) doing everything she can to get back at daddy being overprotective of her. She's going to end up doing something REALLY stupid because of it.
