Looks like Herschel is going to hit the bottle after cleaning out the barn. It also looks like he's going to go into full fuck god mode.
Now that Shane was right the whole time, you'd think he'd be more at ease, but obviously Herschel wants him out of the farm completely. I'm guessing Shane snaps further which leads to a firefight before he'll refuse to leave.
I just wonder how this will all end with Shane. I doubt they kill him off. He's too key of a character, and I really like his character, he's snapped, but at the same time, he was under full control in getting the barn cleared off in the last episode. I love how he snapped and just started breaking all the locks on the barn. I didn't know if he was just going to make everyone fend for themselves, or if he was actually intending on clearing the barn.
He could have easily ended Dale right there in the woods, but he didn't. He knows Dale has complete disdain for him, and Shane probably views him as completely worthless, but yet at the same time, Shane's ultimate goal was to just clear out the barn to keep it safer for everyone. There were so many parts where you thought Shane was going to say hey group fuck you...have fun with this, but he's still protecting everyone. He is still Rick's best friend. He doesn't know that Rick knows he fooled around with Lori, but at the same time Rick fully understood when he found out. It doesn't seem that Rick will ever get bent out of shape on that one.
Shane's snapping was why I thought in the end he was going to off Herschel, or he was going to just open up the barn in the middle of the night and have everyone try to survive it...where walkers would get in the house...probably kill off everyone in the family but Maggie, and life goes on at the midseason point. I'm glad that Herschel isn't dead though as it's going to be fun to see him fall off the wagon.
