I have to second this. Those uniforms looks nice! I may just have to make a coaching stop at South Carolina in NCAA 13 if they get those uniforms in the game.

No kidding, those are in 12?

I'm a huge Spurrier fan and Lattimore is just a stud, plain and simple.

Sweet! Well then, South Carolina just became an automatic stop for me at some point on my Coaching Carousel dynasty. Now they just better offer me a job at some point.

espn guy: "exactly how much education is there for the and ucla players that things are different where they live and go to school?"

keyshawn: "well, first of all, no one really cares about ucla in this town."

Gamecocks picked to win SEC East.

South Carolina was picked to win the Southeastern Conference's Eastern Division at SEC Media Days this week in Hoover, Ala.

South Carolina wide receiver Alshon Jeffery received more first-team All-SEC votes than any other player in the league.

The Gamecocks, coming off of their first division title in school history, return most of their key players from the 2010 season, including running back Marcus Lattimore, wide receiver Alshon Jeffery and cornerback Stephon Gilmore- all of whom were first-team All-SEC selections by the media at the event. Jeffery picked up 152 out of a possible 167 votes, the highest amount of any first-team offensive selection. Lattimore picked up 130 out of 167- the third-highest.

South Carolina received 114 first-place votes. Georgia was predicted to finish second (38 votes), Florida third (12 votes), Tennessee fourth (two votes), Kentucky fifth (1 vote) and Vanderbilt sixth.

Alabama was picked to win the SEC West and the overall SEC Championship. The Crimson Tide picked up 111 first place votes in the west, followed by LSU (30 votes), Arkansas (23 votes), Mississippi State (1 vote), Auburn and Ole Miss (two votes).

Alabama picked up 98 votes to win the overall title, followed by LSU (29), Arkansas (18), South Carolina (14), Georgia (4), Florida (2) and Ole Miss (2).

Gamecocks quarterback Stephen Garcia was selected second team All-SEC, along with teammates Devin Taylor and Melvin Ingram (both defensive linemen). South Carolina offensive linemen Kyle Nunn and Rokevious Watkins, along with linebacker Shaq Wilson, picked up third team honors.

Yeah after much thought, I'm rolling the dice and going with Stanford as champs for 2011.

Well the schedule is certainly favorable, though there are a few tricky road games (but we should be favored) @ Arizona, @ USC, and @ Oregon State (anything can happen in Corvallis). And then of course there's the big test, Oregon. Not to mention anything can happen in the Big Game. It will certainly be an interesting year, but there is good opportunity for a slip up.

I think with the advent of a conference title game, they will be well positioned for a BCS Title game if they win it and have one loss.

Ditto, Stanford could do it. I think Oregon will have at least two losses unless they beat LSU at the beginning of the season which I think LSU is gonna win.

As much as I hate to say it you left out a pretty big game with Notre Dame at the end of the season. Even if ND is not up to par, the middle/end of the schedule is brutal. 7 straight weeks with no cupcakes on the plate. Only plus is the last three are at home.

    Washington
    @ USC
    @ Oregon St
    Oregon
    California
    Notre Dame
Pac 12 Championship (assuming you make it)

I guess I overlooked the ND game because last year we manhandled them at their place and it looks to be about the same teams this year, and since 08 we've gone 16-2 at home, undefeated last year.

A Day With Mike Leach: Sailing Key West's High Seas With The Pirate Captain

    Some gems in here.

He's addressing the air, or us, or no one in particular, or everyone, or maybe just the dying light of the sun burning a brilliant purple-red hole hole in the horizon. Sometimes it's hard to tell.

"If I'm a big fat lazy fish, I'm not gonna work. I'm gonna eat the dead fish. It wouldn't make a difference to me, would it?"

The captain says something, but it's cut off by Leach's closing argument.

"Fish aren't smart. It's not like they have advanced degrees."

"Okay, so here's a story for you. Kilff Kingsbury was our starter, and he was sort of conservative, you know? B.J. (Symons) knew what I wanted to audible to before I even said it, but Kilff was just careful like that. It was third and long against someone, and their corner was cheating way up. Kind of a cheat back, and then at the last second he'd pop up."

"Well, we had good technique, and were pretty good getting off the line, so I called "Six," or our call for four verticals. We had it, and I called it, and Kliff shook me off. Now most of the time I'm fine with quarterbacks shaking me off, but we had this, and I got mad and called time out and said some things to Kliff."

He spits in the ocean, and continues.

"So Kliff goes out there, and I call "Six" again, and he shakes me off again, and now we get delay of game. It's fourth down, and we're on our own forty, but I just call it again and have some words with Kliff. We hit it against that corner cheating up for a touchdown, and Kliff comes up and starts yelling at me angry on the sideline: 'FINE, FINE, ARE YOU HAPPY NOW? WE DID IT YOUR WAY, AND NOW ARE YOU HAPPY?' And I was."

"I think we were almost there in Lubbock. Other schools like Texas and Oklahoma are getting 23 draft picks in five years, and we're getting nine. They turn out draft picks all the time there, and we were getting there. We could have had something like Virginia Tech in Lubbock, I think."
