Yeah, I was cracking up over and over tonight watching Wipeout. It pretty much is watching a modern version of MXC. Every time they'd get flattened by one of the obstacles and knocked on their ass into the water or mud or whatnot, oh man, that reminded me of the good times sitting there at 1 or 2am watching MXC.![]()
That stuff is so damn silly...
Ok, I gotta admit, it's kinda funny, but, at the same time, it's no where close to the comedy of MXC. The color commentators for it were FAR funnier than the ones for Wipeout.
And the commentary is where the real comedy is. People getting the shit knocked out of them isn't really that funny just like America's Funniest Home Videos basically showing nothing but baby videos, dumb ass animal videos, and people getting kicked/hit in the nuts. Physical comedy like that just isn't funny.
Yep. I'm still pissed at Spike TV for ending MXC. That was comedic gold. I would sit up at 1 or 2am or whenever it was that it came on late at night, even when still in high school during the first year or two it was on, just to watch it because it was hilarious and it was the commentary that really set it over the top.
I was watching that exact video earlier not long after my last post in this thread. I was happy to see MXC able to live on via YouTube.
