That's what I thought. I had never see anyone else, an actual person on the other end of that username and not a spam bot, be banned before today. I'll take at least partial credit for that... I was playing games last night while the thread erupted and then this morning I was half busy working and half just avoiding that section that I didn't really look at it much. But once the afternoon kicked in and I stepped in there a few more times only to see it was all pointless, I shut it down. Needless to say I don't expect it to continue again like that, certainly not more than an overnight of it.
The only other person we've banned was a guy that was selling steelerfan's rosters on eBay... we learned that he was registered here and needless to say he was permanently gone thereafter.
Yeah, I was originally replying that to your post with the video. I wasn't sure if you were being serious with it or having a laugh, so I figured I'd play the safe route and give a serious reply.
I'll be honest, there have been so many new names that I can't even keep up, I can't remember if you were someone who joined us here before the great migration from OS the past few days, or if you were one of the people who were part of the mass OS exodus. So I went with just the assumption that you were one of those who came over from OS, and were trying to make some sort of a statement or comparison regarding the previous acts by the OS mods, and now our admins locking things down as well. Thus why I went with the serious reply that I did go with.
I actually credit the members here as a major reason why we haven't had to dole out the ban hammer... you guys are usually good about keeping other members in check and all in all a well-rounded group. Just so long as we can keep mors from gnashing his teeth at the first person from that other site that he sees.

Yeah, I was reading through some of that stuff from the overnight posters in there and just shaking my head. Some of it gave me a laugh just because it was so random, but man, that just completely degenerated from the original thread, and in a hurry. I definitely was not the least bit surprised when I saw in the afternoon that it had been closed. And then I saw the other stupid threads that were being created, and yeah, I knew the situation was hitting rock bottom.
Ah, I think I remember reading about that in some thread. So yeah, besides that guy, to become the first person banned in the 14 month history of TGT, all because of your posts you had made, that dude definitely did whatever it took to deserve it. You guys have always been extremely lenient over the months with stuff, usually just a simple warning in red being enough to settle any issues with members. But man, to go and get yourself banned, especially here, you know you screwed up big time.
Yeah, I've been the head admin at a site since August 2006 and I know what kind of hell you guys can deal with sometime when crap like this OS stuff comes around. So I definitely try to help out the new guys as best I can to keep them straight and from crossing the bad paths with you guys. As for me leaving OS, it was quite a few years ago. There was an annoyance in dealing with ungrateful pricks (both on the staff and it's members), far too much personal time spent there and a thread full of porn to ensure I would never be invited back.

Back in the day it was a lot like this place. Things change, people wanted to take it a different direction and it became less of a place to discuss our hobby and screw around during the work day and more of an attempt to become the IGN of sports games.

Yeah, I figured that was the case. Became more about trying to make money, and less about a place for like-minded people to hang out, shoot the shit, and enjoy some video games together.

it can be, but like the couple of threads that i remembered seeing were the dreadlocks thread and the broadcast cam thread (i think this was for ncaa11). both of them reached close to like 100 pages and were filled with people going insane and how they werent gonna buy the next ncaa game if these items werent in the game.
i understand having a passion for this game, but to completely base a decision of not buying the game, all because of a hairstyle or a camera angle is rediculous, imo.
Yep. Thank god G was able to get in there before it got past page 2 or 3 and issue a general warning about keeping the thread on topic. Even though it's still stupid and rather pathetic, at least maybe this time they'll actually talk about the rosters and not going into another retarded pornstars, wolfpack, and whatever else stupid crap were the topics in the original rosters thread.
