The Forza 4 Collector's Edition was marked as $59.99 about an hour ago on Amazon. I ordered it and as soon as I did, the item went out of stock. I wonder if they're actually going to let people keep that price? It was supposed to be $79.99.![]()

In case people miss it in the news thread....
NCAA Football 12 now has a $20 credit at Amazon!!!
If you have the cash, there is a $40 off lightning deal on one of the high-end Tritton headsets. The deal is good until 4pm central.
That's pretty good. They're the full surround sound version so you're going to be hard pressed to find a better deal if you're in the market for one.
I'm sorry, but that's WAY too much money for a freakin' headset, even with the $40 off deal...
It's full surround sound and you're going to pay a nice little chunk of change if you want surround sound in a gaming headset.
I thought about buying them today but they aren't wireless, I have kids in my house and that is an ass-whopping waiting to happen. LOL
Damn I missed out on that headset deal. Now that I am settling in I am in the market. Guess I'll take a look at the Astros again and maybe get a hauppage too.
Someone on eBay a few days ago was selling a brand new A40 with the mixamp for $150 shipped. I wonder if he realizes how much money he lost out on.
Amazon Gold Box is KZ3 Helghast Edition for $40.
22% claimed.
I don't know where else to put this, but with NCAA coming out in two days, I'm guessing interest in capturing games is going to rise again. Obviously the HD PVR is the best, but expensive. There's a solution that, for the time being, is 1/3 of the cost and has really good capture quality. It's called the Roxio Game Capture. It retails for $99.99 but you can get it a lot cheaper if you follow these steps:
1. Click this link and add to your cart for automatic $30 off.
2. Where it says coupon, type in "roxiostore15" and hit apply. That will knock the price down to $59.49.
3. Make sure you select USPS Priority Mail, which is free and will get you the equipment in 2 or 3 days.
I don't know how much longer this is going to last, but I did go ahead and buy one as a backup. I checked out some quality tests on Youtube and was surprised/impressed. It comes with all the software and hardware you need and it does allow you to PLAY in HD with component cables, so that's a huge bonus. Here's a quality test:
I think I remember someone posting a while ago that they were getting one of these, Skip was it you? Any feedback on it?
Damn, that seems like a pretty good deal. Problem is I run HDMI into my receiver from the 360 and then HDMI to my TV. Component is fine, but I'd have to go buy that cable too and that is extra cables instead of the clean single HDMI cable. It's called the Roxio Game Capture.
Too bad they couldn't have put HDMI and optical on there.
The problem is that HDMI is much more secure in being able to record, etc. so you'd essentially not be able to capture everything you would want. In other words, you might be able to capture some games, but not necessarily all. Definitely wouldn't be able to capture TV. That's why all of these devices are Component.
Thanks G, I didn't know it was locked down that much.
There's capture cards that you install into your PC(never tried because I have a laptop and I don't really mess around with it a lot) that allow you to capture video via HDMI, if I'm not mistaken. The only bad thing when using that device would be the extra cables as opposed to using one. I personally can't tell the difference in picture quality from HDMI to component.
Anyway, I bought one of these as a backup and it shipped today. Hopefully I'll have it by Wednesday or Thursday and post some impressions for those of you interested in it.
Yeah, I've never bothered with it. I'm fine using component cables and capture boxes. As you said, I can almost guarantee my laptop wouldn't be capable of even running the Black Magic card.
That is some good information to know. I kind of always wondered why companies settled for component instead of HDMI.
Agreed OU.
I just have laptop too FWIW.
I'm still weighing if I would want to bother switching out to component or not. It isn't like I really capture video from games without a reason to. I did a couple times at an old site just using my video camera and without a real reason to do it now, I think it would just be wasted money although it looks like a good deal.
I'll have this bad boy later today. Kudos to them for their shipping time. Unbelievable. They shipped it out Monday night and I'll be getting it today for free. Couldn't be happier in that regard.
