I don't get it, should they not be able to?

Generally schools make a stipulation that they'll only grant their release if the player is transferring to a school outside their conference. It's entirely up to the school but that is the general practice.

Don't they also have to sit out 2 years if there is a transfer within the conference?

Not that I'm aware of but I might be mistaken.

    Found this:
    http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/htm...c_players.html
UPDATE --- And to clarify this further in light of some questions I've gotten, the Pac-10 did use to have a rule that players transferring within the conference had to sit out two years, enacted to really try to discourage anyone ever doing that. In 2004 the rule was amended so that it was the same as the general NCAA rule, that players could transfer just sitting out one year. In this case, the Pac-10 is merely saying that its usual transfer rule will remain in place regardless of the rule that has been enacted by the NCAA allowing players in programs that have post-season bans to transfer if their eligibility runs out before the post-season ban does (in this case, juniors and seniors at USC). The reason is obviously that the conference did not want to encourage other Pac-10 teams to try to "poach'' players away from USC.
Obviously sounds like it's up to the individual conferences and at least the Pac-10 did away with it.

How many recruits can you create before the start of a season this year? I believe last year it was 30.

Yeah ha. I did a couple of dynasties and for some reason Kenjon Barner always transferred to Stanford. Every year...every time.

Justin Boren transferred from Michigan to Ohio State after Rich Rod took over, so I can say for certain that this isn't a rule across the board

This was the instance I was thinking of when I first saw the question.

The coach gets to decide if he releases the player from their scholarship or not. USUALLY the coach rules that you cannot go to a team in your conference. No matter where they go, they have to sit a year (unless they go to 1-AA, D2, or D3). If they go to a school they're allowed to go to, they'll still be able to stay under scholarship while they sit. If the player chooses, they can go to a school the coach doesn't allow (usually conference opponents, OOC rivals and sometimes future opponents). They then have to sit a year, while not being under scholarship. Every now and then the coach will allow a player to go within conference (Mark Richt sent some player to Mississippi State) and while the player still has to sit out a year, they'll be under scholarship.

I'm 99% sure that's how this works, and I hope that made sense.

Didn't see this asked yet unless I overlooked it. Many apologies if this has already been asked.

If I elect to play as an Offensive Coordinator or Defensive Coordinator in an Online Dynasty and meet up with another User who is a Head Coach, how is the game handled? Will I still be controlling my OC/DC duties only, or does it revert to me being a Head Coach?

You'll still retain full coaching, both offense and defense, in User vs User OD games. That's for all combinations of positions ... it's treated as if you're both Head Coaches, no matter your actual assignment.

In all Online Dynasty User vs User games, you'll be controlling both sides of the ball. They did this because it'd be a pain in the ass if both of you are OCs and therefore just have to keep watching as your opponent plays and no interaction from you until it's your turn to be on offense.

I assumed this was the case. Thanks!

Any word on the 3 star recruits actually being decent in this game?

This makes me a little sad.

I thought it would've been cool where you watch him on offense, then he watches you on offense. I understand usually it's boring to have no control over anything in a game but in this case I'de be fine with having to watch your defense against the user's offense in the Broadcast view and wait for your chance where they then watch you. It would add to the tension in the game I would think. Say they go down and score then you know you gotta match it or fall behind. I think it would've made for a fun OC vs OC user match. At least in Coach Mode it would've made sense. I think maybe they should make it optional like a Yes-No thing the commish can choose when creating the dynasty. User Match Coordinator Restrictions: Yes - No type of deal.

Question: Sorry for the repost but I'm really curious. If you have an OC or DC position, when you go to play that side of the ball can you still play co-op; as in both players playing a position while 1st player does the play calling?
