    Haven't noticed this question yet.

Do RB's or any ball carrier for that matter still lean and and go into the trucking animation multiple times soon as a defender is still around? I've noticed it in the demo and it still looks dumb as ever. Without replay its hard to explain but I know people know what I'm talking about.

In NCAA 2011 the computer always seemed to have a woody for calling a timeout with 2:01 on the clock (usually in the 2nd and 4th quarters) if you haven't really seen that yet I'm pleased.

    How effective is the juke?

It seems really weak in the demo ... I hope EA can tune this because I hate using the spin. In real life, ball carriers rarely spin in the open field -- they usually spin off contact.

So I want to see the juke become more valuable, because in the demo it feels almost useless.

yeah you rarely see a spin in real life that isnt off contact.

I totally agree. They have neutered all the special RB moves we used to have and the only one left is the unrealistic spin move. You can voice your concerns about this issue specifically in this thread: http://www.thegamingtailgate.com/for...utering-the-RB .

Are user-controlled celebrations still in the game? I haven't been able to do open-field celebrations (like high-stepping into the end zone by pressing B when I'm in the clear) or team-specific TD celebrations (like the tomahawk chop) in the demo.

I've seen TD celebrations -- including the tomahawk chop and the hook 'em thing -- but I have no control over them.

Would sure be a bummer if they took those out. If anything, I was hoping for more user-controlled celebrations and showboating -- even if they came at the cost of a penalty.

The showboating in the open field seems to be removed... not sure if intentional or not but it seems to be whenever I hold down the button, it slows the player down like it did before, but he doesn't do any showboating.

As for TD celebrations, yes, those are all CPU controlled. They removed them because it looked really awkward seeing players running around in the endzone aimlessly after a touchdown or running all the way across the field to celebrate with the mascot.

That's too bad. And weird -- why take control out of the player's hands? Isn't user control what video games are all about?

I don't care if they want to flag me for it, but I should at least have the option to celebrate after big plays or in the open field -- just like in NCAA 06. If it's in the game ...

Hmmm hard to say, I think it has to do more with the defense he was calling and the tackles he was missing. The only way to truly judge it would be to have 2 cpu controlled option teams playing against each other.

Without the suction, I think more tackles will be over run and missed which will probably help the option game.

Not really. CPU has no problem making tackles in the backfield. And users who are good at tackling will have no problems with tackling either. I for one had no problems making tackles in the backfield on option runs or read runs.

The only thing no suction does is make it way easier to run past blocks on defense and made it way easier to run up the middle on offense.

And another thing no suction really helped out on was on blitzes by the Defensive backs and linebackers. Looping blitzes work very well this year and almost a guranteed sack if you have a fast defense because your defenders don't get sucked in by the pass block coming up the middle.

You haven't played triple option teams yet. The spread option doesn't work against anybody. At least Oregon's doesn't work. Might have to tweak all teams that run it I just remember last year after tweaking option teams ratings for QBs ,RBs and O-linemen that the suction helped in containing them. Just being close to them while playing the QB and the pitch man with one player made it easier to make a play.

they took the showboating out because it is now a penalty in real life

Yeah I'm sure the NCAA had a little say into that.

How is the "short snap" formation? And if possible, can you show off some plays in it?

In coach mode game play can you use the normal camera angles as well or is the broadcast cam the only option?

Because it bares their name and license on it. Companies and organizations do care about their name and image of what they are associated with.

Definitely disagree that running backs are now "neutered." I've been able to take advantage of the spin move in the demo, using the appropriate player and in the appropriate situation (generally, when you're in open field moving more left/right than north/south, and a defender is overpursuing). Other than that, the spin move is not as effective, and it shouldn't be. In '11, it was flat out ridiculous how over-used the spin move was, to the point where guys were running directly north-south and spinning to magically clear out any defenders in a 10 yard radius. Very rarely does a real life running back ever execute a complete spin when running directly north-south.

For the jukes, they're toned down so that they're as pressure sensitive. In '11, it was too easy to trigger a big juke, which was an exaggerated sidestep that would sometimes work in the open field, but in any other situation it would pretty much suck your back right into a tackle. Now, it's easier to do a more subtle juke, which is what backs do when they get through a hole and want to shift their way around linebackers to get past the second level.

With the spin and juke having a reduced effect, you have to focus more on your field vision, following blockers and punching through the right holes, which is much more strategic than "let me speed my guy into open space and spin the defenders into oblivion." To compensate for the toned down spin and juke, dangerous players are just more dangerous in their default movement (i.e., their movement without special moves), which I think is more how it should be.
