No, I'm fairly sure that these games you get permanently... it's the ones that you get while you're part of the Playstation Plus subscription that you don't get to keep permanently.

Gotcha! Moreover, as I read the actual article it DEFINITELY states that the PS3 games are "yours to keep" (or something very close to those lines)

No, the Welcome Back games are yours forever. The PS+ games are only playable while you have a subscription. Any game you buy with a discount is yours forever.

Well this is bullshit, I tried to download my free games. selected free PS3 game 1, it gives me an error & Free PS3 game 1 disappears. Same thing happened with free PS3 game 2. I guess I don't get any free stuff now because their service sucks huh?

If this happened, go to the XMB and under the PlayStation Network column, go to Account Management>Transaction Management>Services List>SCEA Promotions to download the game for that first slot.

So.... I went to get my 2 free games I select PS3 Game 1 and the PS3 locks up so I have to shut it off. I go back and now that option is gone and I select PS3 Game 2 same thing. Looks like I am going to get ZERO free games.

EDIT: FYI - I tried the above suggested solution and I get Error message 80710D36

You just have to keep trying until it lets you through.

Yeah you're getting the error message due to high traffic. Give it a couple days if you keep getting the error.

Infamous says 200+ mins for me and I'm on DSL from AT&T.

Edit: If you're talking about time frame, I think it's infinite as long as you were subscribed before 4/20/11.

I e-mailed Sony, stated I'm a PS+ member and etc. Was affected by the outage with MLB.TV. Said I have all five of those games already, and if there is an alternative I can get.
