I'm just waiting for Sony to get hacked again to where you try to log on and this plays.

I swear to Christ, if this is not up by Tuesday when Brink comes out. Shit is going to hit the fan. I do not want to play that shit on 360 with that controller and if I have to delay my purchase of it for even a day, I'm going to call and complain until I get something good.

Hell, if by some miracle it's not up by the 17th when L.A. Noire comes out, I'll REALLY be pissed. I don't want the 360 version with it's 3 discs.

I'm telling you NCAA 12 is going to be out before we get PSN back 66 more days. And that only applies IF the hackers are unsuccessful in trying to hack into PSN again.

I'm hoping that it's up by June at this point. I really hope it comes back soon - the NTG patch is going to drop and I want to get back into that game.

JUNE?! Hell, it better be up this week. If I'm forced to buy Brink for 360, I might just start buying all my games for 360. It's down down for going on 3 weeks now. It's time we got either an ETA or better yet...the network back up.

Here's why you should NEVER give up on PS3... RED RING OF DEATH...TRUST ME, I LEARNED MY LESSON WELL.

I had a launch 360 for almost 4 years and never once had a problem. I had a new slim go out, but as a courtesy of it dying so quick, Microsoft sent me a brand new one and it's been working like a champ ever since.

However, I've had THREE PS3s break due to the bluray drive going bad in them. All three times it was out of warranty by less than 2 weeks, and not a single time would Sony honor is. They wanted $150 each time.

So when it comes to console reliability, I definitely trust my 360 a lot more than PS3. In fact, I don't trust either of them. The reason I have both is for whenever the other one inevitably breaks.

I had two 360's got out me. So I haven't bought another since. The only thing I use my PS3 for is to play games. Like the I did for my PS2 when it could play DVDs I never used it.

Took care of both systems the same with extreme care letting them cool before shutting them off and regularly blowing dust out if them. Maybe down the road I'll get another just to have

Yes ... because the real tragedy in this is whether or not you have to play Brink on the 360.

It is for me. I paid $300 for the system(add another $1,300 if you want to count the broken ones), so it's really annoying that I can't do with it as I intended. I've already had to pass on Motorstorm for the time being, and at this rate, I'm more than likely going to have to do the same with Brink.

Honestly, I wouldn't even care if it was down for two months. This garbage of not informing their customers of exactly what's going on and instead pumping up full of "we are working around the clock to ensure that the network is up and secure ASAP" is what's getting on my nerves. As of now, it could be up tomorrow, it could be up next week, it could be up in 2 weeks, a month, hell...they might have decided to completely scrap it and I wouldn't have the slightest clue.

I realize with the massive lack of advertising they do for their first party games that they think people buy PS3s just for the hell of it, but contrary to that belief, a lot of people buy them for games. A fairly good portion of them buy them to play online with friends. It's inexcusable to have the network down for going on 3 weeks and still not be able to give customers an even remotely ballpark answer of when it possibly will be up.

But rest assured, they're "working around the clock." Psh.

I'll be honest, it's an inconvenience but it's really not that serious. Everyday it's not up just makes the shitpile bigger and they lose revenue due to lost PSN sales. I'm willing to bet they're working around the clock but it's more important to make sure it never happens again. They probably not saying anything because they don't have anything to say. If they say Tuesday and it's not ready by Tuesday, then they get shit on for "not doing what they said they would do." Sony isn't blameless in how they're handling the situation but showing some form of patience will serve you better in the long run.

They did say something. Last Wednesday, I believe, they said it'll be up and running "within a week." That was 10 days ago now, which is not within a week.

Like I said, I'm fine with them improving security. It should've never been an issue in the first place, but whatever. I just find it a huge inconvenience whenever a big game releases and I can't even play it with my friends because I have absolutely no idea when it's going to be up. It's annoying to say the least.

There is absolutely no way any internet service should ever be down this long. That's horrible mismanagement on their part. Plain and simple.

It's amazing to think that at one time, there was no online play. How did people survive?

This is EXACTLY why they don't say anything. They thought it would be a week and for whatever reason, it didn't happen. Now you can use that against them. Like I said, they don't know when it'll be up. They would have it up now if it were feasible but it apparently isn't.

Well, considering that PC gaming had online gaming through modem to modem connection way back in the early 80s and became QUITE popular in the 90s (Doom, RTSs, and ASCII based games through BBSs), video gaming has been centralized around multiplayer games for a LONG time (LAN parties being the major place where multiplayer games really became THE thing to play).

So, long story short, we haven't had to survive without online gaming of some sort for a long time.

I still remember having to buy that network adapter for the PS2 just to get access. Good ol' dialup.
