I love it. I poured over 300 hours into it and I still play it on a fairly routine basis. It's definitely a love or hate game.

My ps3 ylod'd for the second time yesterday. The first was 3 months ago. I got it running again, but I don't want to push it. Very soon, I'm going to buy a new slim (I have a 60 GB launch model), transfer the data, and trade this baby in.

That's exactly what I did. I'm keeping my fat PS3 around in case I want to use the BC (at this point I probably won't ever use it again), but I got it fixed so I could transfer the data. Plus, I knew a "fixed" PS3 would never hold up against NCAA 11

Yeah, the 60 GB fatty still fetches around 150 from GameStop, so I think I'll just dump it after moving my data.

Been out for a couple hours

And the rumor is that all it does is break the methods for Jailbreaking the PS3.

I was wondering what it did. I was gonna comment that, once again, the fonts look different and "crisper" on TGT on the ps3 web browser after the update.

And they're already working on how to.

I cannot believe jailbreaking the PS3 is that easy. Who knew.

I made a rare trip into the video section of the Playstation Store, and for those who love The Walking Dead, each episode is $3 each....$18 for the whole season in HD...not too shabby if you don't want to wait til March for the Bluray.

Well, once you figure out a way around it, it's not going to be very hard to figure out how to modify the hack. Or, it's at least going to be significantly less hard.

It's metaphorically closer to figuring out how to pick a lock and someone changing the combination ... and not figuring out how to pick a lock and someone buying a home security system.

    Just security fixes.

That security patch which basically disabled homebrew, was hacked again within an hour of it being released. Wow. Something tells me there's nothing Sony can do to prevent it now.

On an unrelated note, my PS3 has been making this weird noise coming from the disc drive. It'll actually freeze the game for a second or two, make a loud drive noise like it's having trouble reading, and then work fine for a few minutes. Weird thing is that it does it even when playing a downloaded game, so it makes me believe it may be a hard drive issue, but it sounds an awful lot like a disc reading noise. I swear to God, if this thing stops reading discs, I'm going to calmly send it to Sony(this one is actually under warranty for like 9 more months), get it back, sell it on eBay, and never buy another Sony product again.

Meanwhile, my launch 360 still works.

Not that I use it, but it does work if I needed it!

LOL Sony just needs to give it up. IF Hackers want to do something its only a matter of time before they get through each and every security update you throw at them.

A product/software's security is only as good as the hackers they have employed.

Sounds like Sony needs to do some more hiring.

Yeah there is that route. However, with a hacking community as large as the PS3 one likley is it almost becomes cost prohibitive for the company to hire enough hackers to outman/smart the hackers.

Not to mention that with the hole the hackers are supposedly exploiting -- it's not something that can be fixed short of releasing new hardware ... again.
