EA's version definitely has a better create your own guy feature, the one on this game is very basic. off the top of my head maybe 5 models, and 10-20 different articles of clothing.
Your guy doesn't get any better, there aren't any stats that I remember seeing everything is based on you, which can be a good thing or a bad thing. I look at the stats for certain courses and you have guys who are really good and there are alot of shitty guys...even I normally hit par or worse, so the challenge aspect is there which adds a level of enjoyment not really felt in the EA version.
I don't even remember seeing a "season" mode. The only competition you have is against the ghost players and your friends (which is a cool feature, because they don't even have to be online), everything is based around those tournaments and in theory it keeps your stats for you.
I don't think I would pay 60.00 for this game in all honesty, it gets kinda boring no matter how many course they have, the commentary is crappy ( even on EA's standards, its just some guy that is your caddy).
Playing with alot of friends might add some value to it, but you have to be a serious golf fan to really enjoy this game, I might play 6-10 holes before I get back off it. The immersion factor is simply not there, I don't think alot of people will feel connected to there player which I think will turn alot of people away from playing, it is a sim in the purest form not a game.
With all this being said they haven't updated the PC version in almost a month because they have been focused on getting the console version done to get pass cert. so I might be missing features that they haven't added yet.
