Or Arkansas.
I've read that Bobby supposedly is saying he feels he never should have left Louisville. I wonder if he is a serious candidate or simply a safety net should UL's other candidates decline or fail to impress in interviews.
Louisville has to keep their momentum going with their move to the ACC. Say what you will about Bobby (and there's a lot that can be said), but I think he would keep them going.
FWIW, should Bobby go back to UL, I've heard they do not play Wake Forest until 2015.

There are some Arkansas fans that would take him back.
Strictly talking football, who does Louisville have a chance to hire that is a better football coach than Petrino?
His biggest weakness has been and will continue to be his ability to hire a quality staff.
No one.
As of now, rumors say Petrino hiring imminent.
I don't get the outrage from the media on Louisville re-hiring such a "creep" coach. UL also never even suspended Pitino during his fallout from his restaurant escapade. If you win, Louisville will keep you on staff or hire you, actions & image be damned.
Louisville's letting it all hang out.
ESPN reporting that #Louisville also expect to retain DL coach Clint Hurtt, who has an NCAA ShowCause from actions in Nevin Shapiro scandal

"Imminent" is the word being used to describe Petrino to Louisville as of this afternoon.
The dude abides.
As of last night, the only sticking point was that Louisville didn't want to honor the full terms of the buyout agreement. Petrino has language in his contract that says either $1.2M and a home & home deal or $2M without a home & home. Louisville initially offered $300k.
Sources tell us Alabama OC Doug Nussmeier will be the new OC at Michigan http://t.co/sNnVtycOD5
— FootballScoop (@FootballScoop) January 9, 2014If what @footballscoop just reported is true, then get ready folks: Lane Kiffin will be a LEGIT candidate to be Alabama’s OC
— Dan Wolken (@DanWolken) January 9, 2014
This year, I think the most interesting part of the 'Carousel' has been movement of assistants, aside from Petrino & Texas rumors.
Lane to Alabama would be awesome and so scrutinized.

James Franklin accepts thejob.
The dude abides.
If that's the case, expect Arkansas State's former DC John Thompson to be a serious candidate at UAB.Still nothing official from UAB but new numerous reports have Garrick McGee leaving UAB to become OC at Louisville.
— Rick Karle (@RickKarle) January 9, 2014
Wow. Anybody else think McGee makes himself a career assistant with that move? He has baggage that kept him from getting serious looks before UAB, and now quitting after just 2 seasons to go back to work for Petrino?
If he brings his OC, Doug Ruse, he's bringing what was considered the worst coach during the 6 win years of Arkansas State. We replaced him with Freeze during the last year of the 6 win era and immediately our offense improved dramatically. No idea how well he's doing at SHSU.At Georgia Southern, we are told Willie Fritz will be the new head coach http://t.co/WuvOiF3uws

Vandy AD David Williams just now: "James called me today and said I want you to know what you are hearing is untrue."
