Yeah, it's not just one or the other. It's both sides equally at fault and they have no one but themselves to blame for this issue.

    (shrugs)

Second day at the new federal contracted job means I do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING because the people we provide technical support for aren't going to be able to do anything. Video games here I come!

Seems on three occasions one side (the side Constitutionally closest to the voters and in control of the purse, The House) presented a plan that would avoid shutdown.............but the other side (The Senate) had to have "all or nothing"......

The Nazis were undefeated for about a decade, rolling over their enemies. The Nazis were a "far-right" political group. The Nazis hated the Communists.

    Hmmmm.

Yeah b/c nothing quite says "right" politically like SOCIALISM which Nazis are National Socialists. But hey don't let the facts get in the way of a tired argument.

The "tired argument" is that the Nazis were/are NOT far-right wing. It is a minority (mostly extreme right kooks) that believe/portray that they weren't right wingers and keep the "argument" alive.

Tell me what do Right Wingers/Conservatives believe about Capitalism compared to what Nazis believed about it (hint they believed it was ran by Jews so they prob didn't think too highly of it) etc....

But if you want to buy into the left's propaganda to scare people about the "right" more power to you. Yet if you had even an ounce of intellectual integrity you'd just concede the argument while you were "ahead". Just sayin'.

I guess you know more about it than the vast majority of historians and political scholars. (I know, they were educated at Liberal institutions and do not subscribe to the Limbaugh Letter)

I'm not going to debate it with you (my beliefs lean to the right making a debate pointless) but that is not a concession of any kind. It's an acknowledgment that there are people on this earth that will only believe what their party tells them to believe (left or right) and debating them is an exercise in futility. You are one of these people.

Look at the positive side, you can count this as another "argument" that you "won". That is obviously important to you.

No, it was more like the House is still butthurt about Obamacare being passed years ago, so even though it officially started and went into action, they still insist on holding the entire government hostage trying to get it defunded, postponed for a year (so they can weaken it and then kill it) or just straight up kill it. Instead of working on a budget, they insist on dragging Obamacare into it every single step of the way. Hell, it almost sounds like both the House and Senate for the most part agree on the House's plan, other than the Obamacare shit, which they've been playing hot potato with back and forth.

The House started it, both sides are to blame for it because the fucking idiots on both sides refuse to compromise on shit.

And while my family isn't personally affected by the shutdown, now it's getting personal for me because the Department of Defense suspended all athletic competitions at the service academies today due to the government shutdown cancelling travel arrangements for sports. So now Air Force-Navy (one of the biggest games on their schedule) has until noon on Thursday for this shit to end, or private funding to be found, or else it's gonna get cancelled.

And if that isn't a bitch, my tickets for Navy-Toledo on October 19th just arrived in the mail today. So I essentially have two weeks from Thursday for this shit to be worked out, or those tickets aren't going to be worth shit.

Yeah, seems that the previous House passed something that a clear majority of voters did not/do not want. They paid for it and the current house is listening to the voters. Far as funding of government........if it is not "essential" why have it at all??? Good to have civil discussion like adults smooth......wish others here could/would grow up and do the same

Why not give up on Left v Right and go with Libertarianism??? Oh yeah, cause neither party's "constituents" want liberty because of that pesky thing known as responsibility that must come with true liberty.

One reason I am neither "left or right" far as the political spectrum is the extremes on both are anti liberty and totalitarian. Anyone interested can read this guy for some basic introductory material on the subject. As I told clw neither of our parties stand for "individual liberty" but are collectivists (gop) and extreme collectivists (dem).

The Nazi's were not socialists. They just named their party that in order to capture the majority of the German people's votes. They were actually fascists (extreme right wing). Don't let your misunderstanding/ignorance of the facts get in the way of your perpetual arguments with yourself.
