the situation that he had to deal with was a very difficult one(agreed) and only a couple coaches could have came out on top, given the sanctions (this is a vague claim and requires more information than any of us have). he was set up to fail from day one, and he did pretty well considering all of the factors that were against him(did well? why fire him?). but he just didnt do a good enough job.(only a couple coaches could have done well enough? set up? fired for it.........sounds like you should be ticked at S. Cal and not Kiffen
Sounds like a conspiracy theory to me. You wanted him gone, now that he is gone he was set up to fail? Look, this guy has managed to vindicate Al Davis!! He has gotten his jobs because of his dad, pure and simple. Steve Spurrier's son is a good recruiter and WR coach and will probably get a HC job one day somewhere like LA Tech where Derek Dooley started but really only a gold medal bullshit story artist could land UT and S.Cal as his first two jobs. Well, money talks and BS walks. I'm sure he is good enough to please the folks at somewhere like UTEP. BTW Dooley got UT because of his name as well...........

Moral of the story? Names, dads, bullshit or any combination of the three may get you a great job (anywhere) but if you don't produce to the expectations it/they won't keep the job.
