The only news I care about now is a release date.
Today the wife referred to my PS4 pre-order as "OUR" playstation...I just don't know how I feel about this right now...
For anyone worried about RAM given over to OS, remember The Last of Us was done in 512mb. Even if we only had 1gb, we can still kick ass ;)

I don't think anyone is worried about it. I just think the Xbox fan boys finally have something to fling over at PS fans and they've taken it and run wild. Personally, I think it's hilarious. The thread over at a certain popular gaming forum is absolutely hysterical.
4.5 and 5GB of RAM for games will be plenty for years to come.
Yep and doesn't XB1 basically do the same thing? Plus the RAM given to the OS should hopefully make it SMOOTH and give it the capabilities to "watch t.v." or other nonsense in the future.
EDIT: man those guys at neogaf make iou and my feud like a civil discussion between friends. need to step up the rhetoric about 10 billion notches.![]()

From what I've read, 1GB of it is for future proofing. Sony screwed themselves over big time this past generation because there was no room left to incorporate features like parties and cross game chat, while Microsoft thought ahead and made sure they had enough room. From what I've read, both of them have left 1GB open for future updates.
Personally, I don't see how Sony's OS requires more RAM than Microsoft's does (which is running 3 OS), but it doesn't matter. 4.5GB of RAM is plenty.
From Eurogamer, some details announced today.
Don't need + for party chat.
Friends list capped at 2000. (XB1 is 1000)
The dude abides.
I realize they're doing that for potential more good press over Microsoft, but it truly is dumb as hell. You need Plus to play online, which is where people are going to be using Cross Game Chat. You can play offline without Plus, but who is going to talk to someone while they're playing through a single player game? I mean, Cross Game Chat is an online feature.
I'm interested in seeing how the Cross Game Chat works personally. If it's as broken as it is on Vita, they can keep it.
