Yeah, Watchdogs isn't really my type of game...BUT... I have to admit that it looks pretty stellar. I may also pick that up if the reviews are good, as I suspect they will be.
I'm still hoping to see Connected Careers in FIFA. Obviously it's a taller task in football with so many clubs, leagues, and competitions, but hopefully we'll see it on next gen.

I'm waiting for a job to get games pre ordered. Well actually I just got a job so year but it doesn't pay that much so I will be waiting little longer.
I'm pretty much just pre-ordering the PS4 so I can have one. I may buy Call of Duty on it and check out NBA Live and FIFA, but considering most of my gaming during football season is strictly NCAA the PS4 won't see much time until March. Well maybe Drive Club since it will be free, but maybe not if they only release Gran Turismo 6 on the PS3.
CLW if you're interested the PS4 pre-orders at BB are pretty much outnumbering the XBOX1 3:1. That number will only get larger since they just cut off the XBOX pre-orders due to lack of supply. The PS4 pre-orders are still good to go. Microsoft really shit a brick this generation.

Crying over a rechargeable controller battery??? I have two of those usb cables on each ps3 charging backups at all times. Now if I see a big glare on my screen all bets are off
I really don't see how it would glare off your TV anyway. If that's a problem, just hold the controller at a different angle.
Not a fan of the rechargeable battery being built in again, though. It would be one thing if Sony would fix them when the thing died, but the same 1 year warranty that applies to the console apparently applies to the controller's battery. I only had to replace one for that reason, but it's still a potential annoyance I'd rather avoid.

Rechargeable batteries wear out. Having them built into the controller sucks, plain and simple. Considering I design notebook computers and am on a laptop literally all day, every day, I see battery packs wear out and not hold charges frequently, not to mention wireless devices I have outside of work...........
I have never had the rechargeable battery wear out on a controller. I just traded in my dead launch ps3 (just died) with the still working controller. If they do die after a year I would just get another one. Just not a big deal to me I guess.

Took the battery out of one of my PS3 controllers so my son could act like he was playing when he was younger without turning the PS3 on everytime he picked up the controller.
Seems like it's fairly easy to buy battery inside them I would think as far as replacing it goes.
Bullshit, why would I want to be spending $50-65 a year or even every 2 years to replace an otherwise perfectly good controller?

I'm sure they can be taken apart. Depends on how they wire up the battery.......will it be hard-wired such that soldering is required (easy enough for me to do but annoying) or be connected via cable connector? I have all types of security bits to get past the "security screws" that various products use, but not everyone does. Lastly, just depends how they assemble the thing. Hell, what if they use bonding adhesive to put them together instead of screws? Entirely possible as a cost-saving measure and if they are thinking of them as "commodity" items that get thrown away versus kept for the life of the console.........They can't be replaced in the controller?

I never had an issue with batteries in my PS3 controllers... I'm not worried about it in the PS4 at this point.
Assuming they have the same design as when I took mine apart, I'll never do it again.

Nope aren't hardwired. Just appears to be your typical rechargeable battery that would go into a cordless phone...only smaller. Uses the same type of connector, smaller connector can't think of the end it is...2 or 4 pin believe.
Doesn't have any proprietary screws either.
Most difficult part is aligning the trigger buttons and sensor pads up when putting it together. I always hated that part but that's the only pain. Still only takes all of 5-10 minutes to complete. I say that long because I clean mine while apart.
I dealt with the trigger buttons and springs once. Wont ever happen again. This is coming from someone who took apart numerous PS2 controllers.

Funny thing is after I took the battery out and put the controller back together for my son I just hurried up and put it together. Now it's missing two of the trigger buttons. They just fell out lol

I actually need a new controller now for my PS3. When I hold down R2 for speed burst in Madden and NCAA, my damn guy will eventually pitch the ball back if a teammate is near or behind.

For cost-savings assembly, there are several things they could do. *Assuming* that they are treating them as "disposable". If they are treating them as a serviceable item, then they would likely be built similar to what they've done before.
Sorry man, don't take it as directed as you. It was an exclamation that *I wouldn't* want to be buying a new controller after a year or so just because the battery went out.
