You must be more Madden guy. NCAA demo is awesome IMO. If you bump up it ALl American turn down player threshold to 30 it seems do alright.

But I swear Alabama is way overrated. I can beat them pretty easily with VT . I do have have troubles running from time to time. But I still can beat them fairly easily..

It will be fun running over the SEC with ONce I get the game.

I would suggest putting cpu D to Heisman and turning down hum qb accuracy to 20 and hum wr catching to 45 as a starting point. This will make a lot more of a challenge. AA on default across the board seems pretty easy this year and last year. Most people on this site moved to Heisman last year for a better challenge and I suspect that will be the case this year. I prefer having my offense on AA and then modified sliders to give the cpu an advantage.

    Jaymo,
That is true. I just thought it was pretty easy at first and fun but then got boring. I may have to do the same this year. I did have AA sliders set to from last year ... Any ways back to Madden people. ... Can't wait..

Madsci is starting to load some Madden videos. He's got a game of Steelers (cpu) at Panthers. 4 videos, one quarter each. Not a lot of great gameplay as the user runs or throws short passes. Too many swing passes in these vids on both sides. The 3rd quarter has quite a few runs. The 4th quarter is long. I personally think the new Madden default cam will be a big hit. It's zoomed in on the running plays and yet you can still see all the WRs during passing plays.

    1st quarter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ye5JBzcSlL0

I'm still annoyed at the poor alignments I see in Madden and NCAA with regards to strong formations. Why doesn't the cpu shift the LBs over? Look at how the Panthers line up with both TEs on the right side and yet the defense stays completely balanced (1:47). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDVB...ailpage#t=107s That is ridiculous. Of course the strongside cpu ILB cheats on this play and sprints to the outside at the snap. He actually leaves a massive hole up the middle although that's not where the play is designed to go. It's like EA programs the game to cheat rather than align properly. Again the user lines up in double TEs at 2:35, actually flips the formation and the cpu never moves. Very next play the exact same thing! At least I didn't see blatant cheating on the last two plays but unbalanced sets were money running plays in M13. I could run over 300 yards with Chris Johnson if I allowed myself too. It's the same in NCAA (see 6:35 of Miami-Georgia clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZmGpjhVVBw). If a user lines up over loading one side or motions guys to overload a side the cpu needs to shift their LBs to align better.

No I like football, but the NCAA demo just isn't doing it for me. I like the "new" features that Madden is bringing to the table moreso than what NCAA is bringing. But there was a time when I would buy both and play them religiously until the following Spring when the new baseball game would drop. But sadly, those days seem to be in the past as both titles have struggled mightily to keep my interest.

I am in the same boat slowly sailing away from the EA Football Island. I passed on Madden 13 and truly only enjoyed Madden 12 on current gen. NCAA 11 pulled me back in then NCAA 12 and 13' got ruined with the Aggressive zones glitch so I just played Madden 12 during the football season mostly. Unfortunately, I no longer look at NCAA or Madden as a year long experience but rather 4 -6 months tops.

I think it just comes down to accepting that EA/Tiburon football is EA/Tiburon football. What you see is what you get. I dislike a number of philosophies EA/Tiburon has on football design but the reality is that my views are not theirs. I am an offline only player who wants full immersion and depth to keep me immersed. It seems now like the whole focus is online... that's just not me.

I'm exactly the same way. On the PS2 I would play football all year round. This gen has killed that. I get 6 months max.

I know Jaymo loves his Raidahs! Lions vs. Raiders in Madsci's latest. Full game with each quarter a video.

First quarter: (Note that 1st and 2nd quarter are swapped - incorrect titles).

In the second Q CPU Stafford threw 3 picks. Ugh. CPU is bad in NCAA demo. But I'm sure after 7 or 8 bad years of this crap the power of next gen will fix everything.

Besides a few new plays/play books and cut backs along with new animations. Madden looks the same graphics wise I guess we won't see a big change until Madden 16 oh well.

Thanks Rudy! Gameplay wise things look identical to Madden 13. I wonder how infinity will feel the second time around???

Gator, EA has maxed out these systems graphically. I think Madden looks good and other than improving animations I did not expect any graphical upgrades.

I disagree that the gameplay will be the same in all areas at least but I do have a bunch of unanswered questions. This E3 was not very good for Madden info imo.

Running game - the improved blocking will make a difference in the running game I think. It's certainly better in the NCAA demo, especially for the cpu. I've seen the cpu runners in NCAA use more special moves and be smarter. NCAA has an advantage with the RB Ability slider that is absent in Madden. Often times I want to give the cpu RB a boost (and not just in breaking tackles). Madden cpu RBs rarely used special moves last year. I hope that is fixed.

The cpu passing attack was lousy on all levels last year on Madden. That's why it concerns me to see all these picks by the cpu QB. This needs to be better. I want to see them throw it to the top receivers more too. The jury is still out on this. We also need to see team play calling improve. I never want to see 80% runs on first and second down again due to horrible gameplanning ratings in the playbooks.

User passing - this became too easy since the cpu DBs never disguised their coverage. Off at pre-snap meant curls were open all day. Press and a go route was almost always there for the good WRs. The new disguised coverage stuff we can use (and I hope the cpu uses) hasn't been talked about enough and could make this area more of a chess match and less automatic unlike M13. I also want the cpu to be smarter as well. On 3rd and 3 I don't want them giving my WRs a 10 yard cushion and easy first down. That was lousy last year. The cpu was dumb as rocks.

DL play. It doesn't look like much has changed. The LE/RE issue was terrible last year as LEs got twice as many sacks. People were saying the NCAA demo was better in this area. I hope so and I hope it applies to Madden.

Special teams - unless I put on a blindfold I would make every FG kick. This is because kicking is too easy at default AND because there are no separate sliders for cpu kicking. Shopmaster said nothing has changed here. Inexcusable imo.

I think the new wider default camera will be fun to play with.

The exciting news to me is it looks like Madden finally has user and cpu special teams sliders!

Looks like they got rid of all the defensive line sliders like pass rush and block shedding. They also got rid of run reaction time. It never worked that great so not a huge loss but I hate losing sliders. We do get a true pass coverage slider which is huge since the reaction time slider didn't do much of anything last year. I hope they add RB ability instead of break tackles. That was redundant with the tackle slider. I will love finally being able to tune the kicking sliders better!

Second - I have noticed on a lot of the videos that the cpu CBs will come up and show press but won't attempt to jam at the line and drop in man or zone. Last year the press always meant a jam and if they whiffed they were destroyed. Is this the new disguise coverage option?

In this Madden 25 youtube video from e3, I noticed the same thing I see happening in the demo for NCAA 14 (shuffling feet or a hitch step when transitioning to top speed). Usually it happens only once but I've seen it twice on runs you have to cut or juke then re-gain top speed especially with DAT Oregon HB#6. I don't know what is causing this animation, but my guess is the runner is transitioning from acceleration burst to full speed.

The opening kickoff return for the Packers Cobb begins around 1:30 and he receives the kick at his own 5 and gets a very nice return that probably would have been a touchdown in real life. The hitch step or shuffling feet during the run occurs at 1:35 or 1:36 when Cobb reaches the 30 yard line. I notice it a lot on the NCAA demo and now I immediately spot it in the Madden videos. This is upsetting to have a shuffling of feet which basically means the ball carrier loses a step allowing the defenders to catch back up with their fast pursuit speeds. This needs to be removed since I never saw it in any Madden 13 video or in the demo last year.

Shopmaster is reporting that the Madden demo is most likely to be out August 13th, two weeks before release.
