Damn!
We asked our readers who they thought was “winning E3” during the show. Over 280,000 of you responded, and Sony took the top spot with 81% of the votes. Microsoft garnered 12% and Nintendo grabbed the remaining 7%.

Yup. I think the biggest thing yet from Sony is that they are allowing Indy developers to self-publish on the PS4. It costs the developers nothing extra and allows them the freedom to update whenever they need to, without paying anything for it.
Sony has made a BIG push for getting the Indy developers to come to them instead of Microsoft, and, so far, it definitely appears to be working.
Is it me or is MS just shooting themselves in the foot for things out of the blocks?

The dude abides.
Saw an alleged XB1 developer posting on some other forums and they tried to spin it as we are bringing value with all this DRM stuff "its the future" "its just like steam" etc...
however at the very end the alleged developer admitted if you "ONLY" care about games then PS4 is for you. Don't remember the exact quote or where i read the article from but i felt that was a pretty damning admission by someone who allegedly helped develop the console.
He's not wrong. I guarantee you this is the last generation with physical media.
I don't disagree with that. However, I highly doubt MS follows the "Steam" model where there are deep discounts for digital media. Why? Simple. XB1 has no competition to cut prices on XB1 games b/c they are the only game in town. I suppose Sony and MS could get into price wars with digital 3rd party titles. However, unlike IOU MOST gamers by only one console and stick with it. Thus Sony/MS have absolutely no reason to cut prices for digital downloads from their own stores. That's why the used game market; Amazon; etc... are so... important they keep the video games market at least somewhat free and open which keeps prices in check and subject to the laws of supply/demand.
I agree with the sentiment of most people sticking with one console or company. I was talking to a Best Buy employee earlier tonight and she was telling me how she has been with Sony from day 1 with the OG Playstation, but even the most die hard Xbox fan that works there has had thoughts of switching teams. This is the fanbase that MS is losing. People who have stuck with Xbox since it's infamy feel betrayed and left to dry.
Seriously, someone explain to me the whole "I LOVE Sony" or "I love Microsoft." I just don't get it. I never have. I know people out there that would buy a Sony device over a Microsoft device no matter what, and I truly don't understand it. For me, the name doesn't even come into play. If I like what I see out of a device and I feel the price is right, I buy it.
Unless I was actually getting paid by one of these guys to give them my undying support, I don't think I could ever have a favorite brand. Hell, I don't even get the whole Android vs Apple thing. Maybe I'm just out of the loop.![]()
Amen. I mean, are there forums with people "warring" about what TV brands they have, or people throwing shit at others for the type of Blu-ray player they own? Is there a DVD vs. Blu-ray war on some distant forum? It's just stupid. So someone prefers one system over the other. Good for them. It's called preference and options.
