Carl's 'Danny Torrance' face at the beginning when they got stuck cracked me the fuck up. He has that "seriously, the fuck you doing getting stuck in the mud?" look on his face.
As for Morgan, glad to see they finally had him make an appearance. I thought he was gonna end up some mystery that we would never see revealed. He definitely has gone the route of the psycho, which I do believe would happen to anyone in that situation, left alone like that for so long, watching both your wife and child die. Anyone would snap like that. And, I also think that is the last we see of him. He's in his own world and is so far gone from sanity, he would never really fit in with a group. This episode was pretty much the closure episode for the Morgan side plot.
Carl has definitely grown out of the innocent kid that he was in season 1 and most of season 2. However, he is still a big risk-taker, about to just go waltzing into certain death in that restaurant if Michonne hadn't stopped him.
The hitchhiker, I wasn't quite sure what would happen with him. I was expecting him to either end up like he did, bloody remains on the side of the road, or be so pissed at them leaving him in their rear view mirror twice, that he would try to set up a trap for them if they came back that way. If I was in that situation, I would be tempted to do that, either set up something in the grass around that wreckage to pop their tires or wait there in the woods with a gun or something. Teach those fuckers to just drive past me and leave me chasing them.
As for the episode as a whole, this was definitely a nice change of pace episode. Instead of just jumping right into the war between the prison and Woodbury, having this sort of slow pace episode with just Rick, Michonne, Carl and Morgan, close up one open hole in the story with the Morgan side plot, and open up Michonne some as a character instead of just this closed, shielded chick with a sword that goes from a loner to an outcast in both Woodbury and the prison.
