The way pipeline states are playing a factor this year that may not be a bad strategy moving forward either.
I completely agree, pipeline states are going to be a major factor in years ahead for me.
Yes opposing coaches need to have their pass approved by me to recruit in the state of Va. Any and all talent will be inspected thoroughly before crossing state lines
Yeah all of my recruits are from Texas except 2.
My pipeline in Texas is ok....as I believe (educated guess) only 2 on the roster are not from Texas (LB Hicks and DE Jones)....so I decided to attempt to work on building pipelines in Florida and California....if I can secure all 3....I wouldn't even have to look outside my pipelines except for those freaks and just have to be recruited.
Risky....but DEFINITELY worth it in the long run

My pipelines are awesome: California, Texas, Michigan, Ohio and Florida...not sure you can get much better than that.
I think after a couple of winning seasons, I'll try to expand my pipelines outside of Texas and Oklahoma.
I was piiiiiiiiisssssssssed earlier this season. Saw a highly rated recruit from Pulaski, Va. That's never happened before ... I think he had you in his Top 10. Every other year of NCAA, if I see recruits from Pulaski, VA or Boone, NC (two places I lived while I grew up), I would always recruit them. Couldn't touch that guy this year though. One problem with those pipelines is, personally, I'm not willing (yet) to take on Miami, FSU, Texas or Texas Tech. Too many battles to be had when I'm already fighting with you and Snoop in Ohio.
Funny enough, I was reviewing Ohio State's real 1997 class last night, and there are several guys who picked Ohio State over Florida State. I figure eventually I'm going to have to try to reproduce those victories.

Yep, especially for guys that came from Florida. And Ohio State in the mid-90s had essentially three pipelines ... Ohio, Florida, and Arizona.

Wisconsin has no luck in recruiting. This week I lose my top three targets, all to user teams. I expected to lose the FS to Penn State (but had hopes otherwise) but I didn't expect to lose an MLB that I had worked on all season and finally got a Soft Commit from last week only for him to hard commit to Clemson this week. To make matters worse, MLB is one of my few needs... FML.
My class could end up with less than 10 players. I've lost 2 players now who had us first two weeks ago and one soft commited, now he has us in third and the other has us down to fifth. And I'm spending a good amount of time on these guys.
The #1 C did soft commit, so I guess that's good.

Sykes combines his athleticism and playing strength with the technical skills to excel as very good offensive run blocker This prospect possesses the size for the center's position at the major level of competition. Shows the ability to handle the shotgun snap with consistent accuracy; is quick to snap and step when the QB is under center. Displays good flexibility and explosion coming off the ball; gets good fit and pad level on initial contact. Displays the playing strength to get movement off the line of scrimmage when covered; plays with a good base, can roll his hips with good leg drive. Demonstrates the initial quickness to block offset lineman with up field movement while gaining leverage. We like his ability to zone and chip block to the second level; plays well in space and once getting his hat on defenders is a very aggressive, tough finisher; doesn't let up, plays to the whistle with quite few pancake blocks. At this stage of his development we see a guy capable of making all the necessary run blocks at the next level of play. Pass protection is an area which will need work although his athleticism and playing strength should serve him well. Demonstrates the ability to snap and short set, flashing the skill to handle quick movement. Must improve his initial punch, location and extension however his arm length and quick hands are a positive; can bend, slide his feet and play flat footed but on occasion will lean in. This player should be able to pop out of the guard / center box in pass protection. Sykes may not be an immediate starter at the major level of competition however early playing time is a distinct possibility if a red shirt year is not deemed necessary.

Weber is a very active and productive player off the edge. Has the size and athleticism for the outside linebacker position at the major level of competition. Shows good flexibility, balance and agility from a two and three point stance; displays an explosive first step from either stance with the ability to use his playing strength when taking on single blocks; will need to improve his shiver and shed technique. Demonstrates the quickness and agility to avoid contact; can step in and work out to the ball against the outside run however this could get him in trouble at the next level. This guy has a very good motor; works through traffic well and is capable of creating havoc in the backfield; his wrap tackling style is punishing. Although we see some uncontested sacks his edge speed and acceleration to the QB is undeniable; we see a prospect capable of squeezing off the edge or beating blockers to the inside with an explosive burst; QB's are either sacked or forced to hurry throws, destroying the ability to throw on time. His intensity could get him early playing time on special teams. Weber may not be an immediate starter when he begins his career; some time and perhaps a red shirt may be necessary to polish his skills especially if asked to defend as a coverage player. Regardless, once this is accomplished we see him having a long and productive career at the BCS level of play.
