I saw you had the 5FS in your last class but has recruiting felt any better since the success of last season? Are you getting some noticeable interest from players who are better than what you were getting in prior years or is it marginal?

It’s still pretty bad for a variety of reasons.
1) The CPU sets the board. All I do is get us out of competitions that we have no chance of winning. I don’t add players to the board whatsoever. Whatever the cpu adds is what I work with and the cpu dumpster dives. A lot.
2) The current season is the first year that we’re a 2-star prestige team. Whatever good players show interest are being sucked up by bigger schools and that’s primarily due to the next point....
3) All of our pitches still suck. I have 5 pitches at a D+ or lower, 3 ranging between C+ and C-, 2 B- pitches, and 1 A pitch. The new HC makes up only some of the difference in point values but by and large, we only get recruits with little to no competition. The bottom-feeders.
With that being said, the previous class was still our best ever class by ranking.
Thanks for asking.

Yeah, as long as I’m the coordinator, I’m letting the cpu handle most of the recruiting duties.
In a standard dynasty, I’m really good by year 5. Between my ability to recruit and my superior playcalling compared to what the cpu does, I’d usually be at the stage where I start competing for national titles. Then once the ball gets rolling, I win them back-to-back until it gets boring, then I do something unrealistic and leave a multi-title winner for another 1-star rebuild. While this dynasty is hella frustrating at times, so far, it’s easily been the most interesting and most realistic one I’ve ever done.

I did a sim Dynasty with UTSA a few years ago. I went into the coaching settings and made them pass like 90% of the time. In no time, the team was putting up big points and winning alot. Of course that led to crazy recruiting classes and even more success. It was just something to pass the time.
Did you watch the game sim or go to the next week sim? I set the run/pass ratio for the original coach but I’m not doing that for the new coaches. When watching the games, t appears that the cpu takes that ratio as a suggestion and not a goal. No matter how plays are in the playbook , the cpu gets a massive boner for about 10-15 plays and calls them repeatedly. It LOVES screens, 4 verts, and read options.
