Skyrim doesn't fit on my screen properly and I see no way to fix it. It's not brutal but it is off. My son did play a little while I was making dinner and said the game crashed on him. I hope it doesn't do that much.

Watching more videos, it looks better, without a doubt, but it's really just view distance and lighting differences. Everything else seems to look exactly the same.
I can't compare the actual games yet. I like the soundtrack. Graphics are definitely not as good. I think the Uncharted collections looked better but this looks better than the subpar Tomb Raider "remaster".
I haven't really been outside much so I haven't been able to see the lighting. The combat is pretty basic so far.

I'm only level 4 and faced my first dragon. After 5-6 attempts I'm still waiting to kill my first dragon lol. I've been burned and eaten quite a bit. It's nice to actually face a dragon early in the game. In DAI it takes quite awhile before you can kill one or even run into one.
I like how seamless the main quests and other stuff is. It doesn't feel like a separate component. I like how there are villages and houses you can enter. It's a bit odd when I don't speak any of my dialogue choices. I'm used to that in DAI.
I've been caught stealing twice and both times paid the bounty. I will have to be more careful.
Can you do that on console too? Funny and goofy and cheating all at the same time.
I did it on the 360. Pretty sure you should be able to do it on the PS4/XB1.
Well my xbox gold is expired so it was either this or gold... I went with Skyrim (sorry Bdoughty... Madden in November after my next payday). I have played about 10 hours and it is really a great game. It plays like Fallout 4 with the story of Witcher. I am really enjoying it. I just bought a house and adopted an orphan girl. I haven't figured out marriage yet. Sadly, two of my companions have been killed thus far. One I killed by accident and the other (Sven) I don't know what happened to him.
So there IS a reason why this feels exactly like Fallout 4. The reason is because it is Fallout 4! Apparently Bethesda ported Skyrim to the PS4/XBOX1 and then stripped it down to nothing and built Fallout 4 from the ground up. Wow!

You've already got ten hours in Jaymo? Wow. I haven't been wandering aimlessly enough. I had no idea you could adopt orphans. Have you killed that first dragon?
Edit: I have now killed two dragons. I did meet that girl I could have adopted but I had no home. I'm venturing north right now. I've seen a giant who promptly killed me. I just got killed by an ice troll.
I will say I think the Skyrim world is more realistic than DAI as actual towns and people are living in it. It feels more organic with the NPCs and exploration.

I've read people say Skyrim Remaster looks good but when you look at a true ps4 game (especially a second Gen game) it just blows the remasters out of the water. It's like taking a knife to a gun fight.
Well it is a remaster of a game that was released in 2011. Even Fallout 4 was not really a great looking game. It is serviceable but nothing that makes your jaw drop.
To be fair, I wasn't expecting jaw dropping from Fallout 4. I mean, how jaw dropping can you make a world look that just fucked sideways by a nuke.

Better textures and running at 60 FPS would have helped. Not disagreeing that the world itself should be beautiful due to the nukes.
I say again, welcome to Bethesda, where the dirty little secret is "we reuse engines with low res textures and poor lighting models, add a bunch of new features to one of our franchises that we've milked for ages, and otherwise have a game that's exactly the same." Oh, and they can't write a damn main story to save their lives. Fallout 4 looks slightly better than Fallout 3, just like Skyrim looks slightly better than Oblivion (Fallout 4 and Skyrim being on the same engine and Oblivion and Fallout 3 being on the same engine). I swear I think the Skyrim "remaster" is just Bethesda taking a well known lighting mod for the PC version and importing the PC texture resolutions. Seeing numerous videos online of it, it looks EXACTLY the same besides better view distance (an easily changeable slider), and better lighting.
