I have the home teams. I think Denver can has a better chance than y'all are giving them credit for. It's not like New England is a dominant team.

I think Denver can definitely win

Some guy named Osweiler won in New England.

And not like the Patriots have this awesome Defense they can rely on. They surely can be ran on

Both Defenses looked bad against short handed Steelers Offenses in Week 1 and last week so that shouldn't be any indication if what's to come. Not many teams possess those weapons.

I think Edelman is the difference. 10 catches last week after being gone for a while.
    The dude abides.

I'm not rooting for Manning, I'm rooting against Brady.

You should be ashamed of yourself, rooting for a QB to possibly win more Super Bowls than Bradshaw.

I hope Denver does win but that first meeting between Denver and New England doesn't mean much either because the Patriots were so beat up.

Pittsburgh was 21st in total defense and they'd still be playing if they were healthy. Hell, if Ben, Brown, Bell, Bryant and Pouncey played every game this year they'd probably be playing at home this weekend and would be the favorites to win the Super Bowl.

Point is, defense is not as valuable as it used to be.

    All very true

I tell you the media really would have you believe Pittsburgh fielded the worst Defense in the history of the NFL this season. Know it wasn't the best but the amount of sacks and turnovers accumulated was definitely nice to see give the past 3 or 4 seasons there wasn't many of either.

They were 5th against the run and 30th against the pass, I believe. But, definitely, the splash plays were the difference. Sacks and turnovers had dried up for the last few years. 48 sacks this year and I can remember 3 interceptions in the end zone (Cardinals, Bengals, Browns). The defense made some plays at the right time and with as much youth as they have you'd hope we'll see more improvement.

And not to forget that was with one arm cover liability Blake and with old as ever Will Allen who at my weight and age I still may be able to out run lol

The run defense was definitely an improvement as well. Past few years seem like teams were able to run and throw at will. Coupled with the fact that the pass rush didn't get any pressure or force turnovers. Would like like to see the CB's tighter forcing more difficult throws since the pass rush can't always be relied upon, but that goes against the scheme. Still for a first year with a rebuilding defense definitely cannot ask for any more than they had this season. Was refreshing to see.

Penalties also seem to be down

I'm hoping Blake and Allen are gone. I'd love to see Boykin come back but I'm being he can't wait to leave after being under-utilized.

The penalties were definitely down, though I haven't looked at the numbers.

As a Saints fan, I can tell you, having something resembling a defense is paramount. Our whole defense was diarrhea water.

I agree. But, times are changing and I believe you can win with an average defense and a high-powered offense.

Yeah, like I said above, the Steelers were 21st in total defense but I believe they would not only be playing this weekend but playing at home IF it were not for a bunch of injuries and suspensions on offense (Ben, Bell, Brown, Bryant, Williams, Pouncey). I believe that without thinking their 21st-ranked defense would have to have been any better than it was.

The Saints were 33 out of 32 (Alabama's defense was better). An average defense would have been a Godsend. When we fired Rob Ryan, I tried to tell people that it wasn't the DC, it was the collection of feces the team put out on the field to play D.

The Steelers scheme was actually to limit big plays so yardage wasn't important. Stopping the run and getting sscks/turnovers were preached.

It definitely work though it's nerve wrecking to watch.

Yeah Steeler just judging from watching the games alone, seem to me penalties were down. Of course the most came in the Bengals games.

Yes I want to see Allen and Blake gone. Cortez will be gone as well as he has been a disappointment after getting contract. Anxious to see what the rookie who got injured does, Senquez Golson.

Don't anticipate Boykin coming back, especially not for cheap. Know it was a pain to watch Blake play while he was on bench

Yeah, I'm hoping Golson can be the ball hawk he was at Ole Miss and that they can get something from the draft as well as some stronger depth through Free Agency.

I'm rooting for the Broncos and Cardinals today. However, I'm about 90% sure New England will win and 55% sure that Carolina will win.

Good first half for Denver, aside from Hillman not falling on that lateral. Keep it up, Broncos!
