There are a couple of the XBLA games that will be cool to play on the 1 here and there as well. I will have to agree, there was quite a bit of fluff to get the total to 104.
Most of the highest in demand games were not on the list. Civ Revolution is one of the only games I play on that list.

Found this article which seems to infer that backwards compatibility requires games be re-licensed. Probably since they are being used on a console that was not in the original licensing contract.

    http://www.vg247.com/2015/11/12/xbox...ad-redemption/

According to Microsoft’s Group Program Manager Richard Irving, publishers have “cut very specific deals” on content, and this is where licensing comes into play.

As you can imagine, publishers have cut very specific deals on some of that content.

“For example Madden – you can imagine how many licenses go into a game with the players, the NFL, sponsors and so on. And there’s over 1000 games at this point on Xbox 360.

“It didn’t seem fair to ask our partners to go off and find licenses for all this Xbox 360 content so what we opted to do instead was to give fans the opportunity to prioritize which games they want

Makes sense but they didn't really let us prioritize because most of the top 100 games voted upon are not on the list. Seems like a mixed message IMO.

I already jumped on Shadow of Mordor Game of the Year Edition for $20 and have it downloading at home right now. An amazing game and all the DLC for only $20, when the physical and PS4 digital GOTY edition is still going for $35-$40.

I bought Shadow of Mordor for full price back in the Spring or early summer on PS4 and loved it. I'd been tempted to get it for Xbox One as well back in September and October since it was down to around $30. Now for $20, I'm game!

Wish Burnout Paradise was in the sale. I was at the mall doing Christmas shopping and briefly jumped into a Gamestop, they wanted $20 for it

It's decent. Had an exciting storyline to it but there's no reason to keep playing after its done, IMO.

I'm digging the backwards compatible games.

Just picked up Supreme Commander 2, and both Rainbow 6 games, it was a buy 2 get 1 free sale at a local video game exchange store. I bought all 3 games for $24.

My Fallout 4 came with a code for FALLOUT 3. I punched in my code on my xbox1 and it said there was a problem downloading. Do I need to put the code into the xbox marketplace and then retrieve from there or should it work by putting the code into the xbox1?

jaymo, I'm betting you should do it through the marketplace or on your 360 (if you had one), then the license will be tied to your account. From there, the XB1 will then recognize it off your account and it will show up in the "ready to install" section of the My Games app on XB1.
    Just a guess though.

"Through 8 February 2016, purchase Fallout 4 and receive Fallout 3 on Xbox 360. The code for Fallout 3 will be delivered to your Xbox message center in 7-10 days. Redeem your code on Xbox One or Xbox.com. Fallout 3 will be backward compatible, so you can play it on Xbox One starting 12 November."

Actually I saw a few video clips for New Vegas and that looks old yet fantastic... especially the strip. Sadly though it's not backwards compatible.

New Vegas is my favorite of the Fallout series. It has the most actual RPG elements whereas 3 & (even more so) 4 just basically take you on for the ride.
