Or else it wouldn't be much fun, knowing a gruesome death is potentially just around the next corner.

Between Fallout 3 and New Vegas, I've probably put in close or more. I put in about 400 total hours into Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

I have put that many hours into games. Skyrim, Destiny to name a few. My point is that by hour 400, I was not finding new stuff. I was repeating old stuff.

Really tempted to pre-order this. I see xbox one is currently offering a code for fallout 3 if you preorder and the description says fallout 3 will eventually be backwards compatible.

So those of you more familiar with this series than I am (because I always thought it was FPS only) how do you change it to the 3rd person perspective? Can you lock it in to where I will never/rarely go into FPS mode?

Either L2 or L3 I think. It's easy. I don't think it makes you go first person at all.

My life will get sucked into this game when it comes out. I bought the regular edition and the sold out Pip Boy Edition. I'm pretty sure I'll sell the Pip Boy one for a nice profit.

It was a one click switch. like JB said. The only time you might spend in FPS mode is if you use VATS (Technical combat) where you lock into targeting an area to shoot at. Just a guess as I never played in the 3rd person.

I hated Oblivion so I never touched Fallout or Skyrim.

I would at the very least go out and buy the Fallout 3 GOTY edition and give it a shot. It is like $15 at Amazon and includes all the DLC.

I bought the Oblivion GotY edition and it was just too much for me. It was just TOO open for my tastes. I felt like I was just wandering around aimlessly with no real sense of purpose.

I think you just need to always get an active quest going to where you don't feel like you're wandering around aimlessly.

Season Pass will be $30. If they do 4 packs like they did in Fallout 3, it'll definitely be worth it.
