I'm glad Arkansas State could play it's role in Hugh Freeze's rise to Ole Miss which was obviously scripted...

In 2010, a perennial 6 win coach (Steve Roberts) hires a recently fired OC from Memphis (Clay Helton). Weeks later, Helton is hired away to USC to join Lane Kiffin's staff at USC so Arkansas State turns to their second choice, Hugh Freeze, who just had been hired at San Jose State. Freeze was home sick in California so he jumped at the opportunity to return to the midsouth.

After another poor year (4-8), Roberts is fired and fan outcry forces the AD to hire Freeze as the full time head coach. In his first (and only) year as HC at Arkansas State, Freeze goes 10-2 during the regular season while Houston Nutt drives yet another team into the ground going 2-10 at Ole Miss. Nutt is fired and after much debate, Freeze is hired at Ole Miss.

In his first two years, Freeze shows promise going 7-6 and 8-5 respectively before ultimately being able to build his team into the 6-0 #3 team in the nation.

All of that was orchestrated because Archie Manning was going to be on the selection committee? I realize Jimmy Sexton is very manipulative... but do you really think he coordinated all of that to happen 4 years in advance just so that Ole Miss could be ranked at the same time that Archie Manning is on the selection committee?
