Sounds good. I've been pretty busy the last few days so I haven't caught any of your progress. Plus last night in the "real world" I was actually watching the Jays and Astros game. It was a great game up until the Astros won.

Mark Appel was given his first career start on the mound in the fourth game and pitched well. Appel went scoreless 6 innings, allowing just 3 hits and 2 walks while punching out 7. Appel left with a 2-0 lead but eventually got a No Decision as Houston lost in 14.

Chris Carter homered twice in the series and moved back into a tie with Rookie George Springer for the team lead with 30.

With just nine games remaining in 2014, the Astros will close the home portion of the schedule with 3 games this weekend against the Seattle Mariners. After that, it's 3 in Arlington against the Rangers and 3 in New York against the Mets to finish the season.

Mr. September Asher Wojciechski will make his first start at Minute Maid Park in Game One of the upcoming Seattle series. Asher has been phenomenal in his first 2 starts (at Seattle and the Angels) and will faceoff against Taijuan Walker whom he beat on September 8 in his first career start.

I'm going to stream the game (as I do all of them) in about 20 minutes (1:00 AM Central). Hop on if you want to see if Woj can keep the magical start to his MLB career going.

He pitched well, but I shouldn't have started him. He wasn't fully recovered from his CG in the previous outing. However, I wanted to get him a start at home and Williams and Cosart were scheduled for the last 2 home games. I didn't want to bump them to give Woj another day to rest because Williams has been my best pitcher all season and Cosart has the highest rating (85). Therefore, I figured they deserved one more start at Minute Maid too and decided to pitch Woj.

He only have up 1 earned run and struck out 7 in 5.1 innings but got a ND. Houston did eventually win, 4-3.

The Astros played their last home game of 2014 on Sunday afternoon and closed the campaign at Minute Maid in style. Taking 2 of 3 from Seattle, Houston beat the M's 6-3 behind three 2-run homers.

Chris Carter belted his 31st of the year off the facade above the Crawford Boxes in the 1st and Jose Altuve curled his 8th long ball just inside the left field foul pole in the 2nd. Then in the bottom of the 8th, Carter re-took the team lead from George Springer by sending his 32nd blast into the Crawford Boxes.

Houston was 39-42 at Minute Maid Park in 2014.

The Astros took 12 of 19 from the Mariners, who are now in a 3-way tie atop the AL West, this season.

    SEA 3-8-1
    HOU 4-6-1

    SEA 9-18-0
    HOU 5-5-2

    SEA 3-5-1

The Astros travel to Arlington next and will play 3 against another of the division's co-leaders, Texas, beginning Monday. Houston will have Thursday off before playing their last 3 games of 2014 in New York against the Mets.

I'm down to 5 games remaining in the season. I'm planning to play, at least, one more tonight. The tentative plan is to stream the offseason Thursday night. I'd like to open up a Party Chat on the PS4 during the offseason stream.

All of that said, anyone who would be interested in participating can post your availability Thursday and I will do my best to set a time that can accommodate you.

    Citi Field, New York, NY

    Probable Starters:

Game One - Friday 7:10 PM
    Asher Wojciechski (2-0, 0.84) vs Jacob DeGrom (1-2, 1.90)

    Game Three - 1:10 PM
    Mark Appel (1-1, 1.86) vs Jeremy Hefner (6-18, 4.34)

After mixing up his rotation in the Texas series, Astros' Manager Bo Porter announced that the organization's three MiLB All-Star starting pitchers will get the nod in the final series of the season as Houston has been eliminated from playoff contention.

The Astros need one win to avoid a sixth consecutive losing season. The Mets can avoid a 100-loss season with a single win in the series.

Houston assured themselves of their first non-losing season in 6 years on Friday night in Flushing with a 2-1 win over the Mets at Citi Field.

The game's only runs all came courtesy of solo home runs.

Chris Carter hit his 34th of the season in the top of the 1st, Travis d'Arnaud leveled the score with his 3rd homer in the bottom of the 5th inning and Jon Singleton provided the difference-maker, his 14th, in the top of the 7th.

The real story, however, was the final start of 2014 for 25-year-old rookie Asher Wojciechski. Wojciechski, in his 4th start, pitched a complete game, scattering 6 hits while walking just 1 and striking out a dozen Mets.

Wojciechski finishes his September stint with the big club, going 3-0 with a 0.89 ERA. The righty struck out 31 and walked just 8 in 30.1 innings. He posted a WHIP of 0.63, allowing 14 hits and just 1 long ball. Lefties hit .167 against him, while righties batted just .098.

Yes. I'm going to play game 2 right now and I'll probably play game 3 within an hour or two of finishing game 2.

Steeler are you live streaming the off season tonight? I saw your 2nd to last game but I don't know if you broadcast your last game of the season.
