I LOVE punishing platformers, but I'm not spending any money on any games for a while. Guild Wars 2 is my game of choice right now and will be for a long time.
In case anyone is always on the hunt for games like I am this is what I use every weekend to find deals.

I will post every weekend if you guys want as it takes less than one minute.
Crusader Kings + DLC is 10.00 through Amazon, its a steam download code also so thats even more sweet.
Greenlight is such a fantastic idea. Valve is comprised of a bunch of geniuses.
Also, Borderlands 2 is $37.50 until September 10 with coupon GMG25-1BW0K-K1A3G on Green Man Gaming. The coupon gives 25% off any game, actually, but you can only use it once. I think I'll finally pull the trigger on BL2.
Trine 1 + Trine 2 + The new Trine 2 Expansion "Goblin Menace" is $8.74 on Steam until Monday. The Crysis Collection is $17.49 also until Monday on Steam. I think I'll be getting the Trine bundle. That's a great price especially since the new DLC is included.
I've exclusively been playing nothing but Guild Wars 2. If you even remotely like MMOs (or, like me, hate them for reasons that GW2 fixes), then you need to at least check it out. I've spent probably 80+ hours in the past two weeks (combining it and football on weekends) and I'm constantly itching to play more.
I'm interested in it but haven't been able to convince myself to pull the trigger on it. I'd love to hear some more in depth impressions from you, mors. I've read all the reviews, but I have a hard time trusting people who have different tastes than me.
Anyway, finally prepurchased Borderlands 2. GMG had it for $36 with a coupon and I figured I'm not going to find it anywhere lower than that so it was the perfect time. Can't wait.

Well, my tastes are different from yours as well, but, coming from someone (me) who has pretty much hated every other MMO I've ever tried because they're a giant grindfest where you go kill boars in a forest, wolves in a forest, and then spiders in a cave to finish the "quests", Guild Wars 2 is a GINORMOUS breathe of fresh air.
This video goes over 60 reasons for looking at Guild Wars 2 if you have even a remote interest in MMOs:
Then these three videos are more indepth talks about the three aspects of the game that I think REALLY make it better than any other MMO around:
Though it was, unsurprisingly, abused, and then got a $100 entry fee as a result. I wonder if they could instead use the $100 like a security deposit ... that way small developers who might not normally afford the fee could pay it, but get it back.

I'm aware, and, as someone who has donated to Child's Play for the last five years, that's huge for me. But I also understand, especially overseas, that $100 can be a significant buy-in. I agree with you that there are reasons/ways to fund the $100 ... I just think, personally, that if the point of the $100 fee is to guard against fake entries, there are alternative ways to do that without negatively affecting the developers.

Big Picture Mode beta on Steam launches today. I don't think they've detailed exactly when today it will start or how to get in, but I can't wait.
...and it's sexy. I hope you can boot into it eventually.
Steam finally lets you choose your game locations! Long overdue, especially in today's day & age of SSDs.

Played around with Big Picture Mode a good bit last night and while it's a bit barebones right now, it's an amazing interface, especially with a controller. Hopefully they expand upon it.
Has anyone played this game? It's coming to consoles soon.
Terraria coming to XBLA/PSN early 2013, 1.6 million sold on PC
Black Mesa (Half-Life Source remake) has been Greenlit by Steam.

Will be available for download Friday (not sure if it will be on Steam at that point).
You are wrong there sir. There is MOST DEFINITELY an end-game. There are 4 pre-hardmode bosses to kill and 3 to kill after hardmode (WAY harder to just walk around in).
It's definitely worth checking out if you like side-scrolling games at all and is a MAJOR time sink if you have someone to play with.
