I've been playing more dynasty as of late, and I'm really enjoying it at the moment. I think having Rece Davis and the ESPN ticker at the bottom really helps deepen the mode. However, I miss the stat overlays like we used to have on PS2. I fondly remember as far back as NCAA 03 having dynasty stat over lays during the play, and during certain cutscenes. For example; during conference play, when the teams took the field, the game used to show all of the standings in the conference. In addition, it showed the overall record, conference record, and it would highlight the two teams playing as well. It also showed the coaching record of both teams during the initial changes of possession. A great way the NCAA Dev team could expand on that is to bring those stat overlays back, and gear the in-game commentary and studio updates more toward the games in which the outcomes affect the game you're playing. I think it should show more personalized updates on the conference games as well. Since it's year one, I'm not disappointed. I just think there is A LOT of potential with dynasty.
why is QB contain command foe defensive line so messed up ?
you make the the command you can see it there..but if you do it again, it gets rid of the command and nullifies the command and you cant get it back before snap. Why is it so sensitive?
...and besides that you have a short window to flip your defensive play if you want to. The game just decides that you are stuck there and cant do crap about it.
and can you really user swat or catch anything now?
Tonight I had my first post patch freeze. It froze after the last play of the game... just like it used to do before the patch. I guess the freezing issue isn't totally fixed.
I'm still running into my on-load freeze where it freezes during the initial load screen (immediately after Press Start Button). So no, not totally fixed.

Had a freeze occur yesterday while going into the 4th quarter. Post-patch, obviously.
I think the freeze fixes were primarily for when you're in the dynasty menus... recruiting, etc. I'm not certain of that but I know that was an issue pre-patch and haven't seen as many (if any) complaints about it post-patch.
I was just reading someone commenting on the shake blitz and I thought - Why doesn't EA just start adding fatigue to the LBs if they shift more than twice? Just delay your snap count and watch your opponent's LBs get so tired from shifting that they start leaving the game.
That's a terrible decision. If the offense changes formation or comes out unbalanced in a strong set you should be shifting your LBs or DL. In real football you will often see the strong side and weakside LB swap spots depending on how the formation lines up. The front 7 just doesn't line up the same way no matter what formation the offense is in. That's not a solution as they do it all the time in real life.
So I finished my 5th season as OC and last night I won the C-USA and the Liberty Bowl. While I was playing the C-USA title game my wife who was watching me asked why I wasn't more excited for such an important game. Then it hit me... I didn't really care whether I won or lost the game. Maybe it's because I have been playing this game non-stop all summer but honestly, I was indifferent to the game at hand. I had the same feeling during the liberty bowl. Now to be fair my interest peaked a little during CC when I finally took on a HC contract with BYU but really my interest in this game seems to have dropped.
I am a huge supporter of this series and NCAA 13 in particular. I have been a huge fan of this game and have totally overlooked a lot of the issues people have because I find the game a lot of fun. However, last night I seemed to have an epiphany that I was bored. Is it just me? Have I played the game too much this summer and now I need a break? Does it have something to do with how much cleaner/brighter/fancier the Madden 13 demo looks/feels? Is it the 10+ years of the same commentary/glitches/issues? I can't figure out why I had such a change of heart. Who knows, maybe (probably) tonight I will be back on board with NCAA, but I am wondering, am I the only one feeling like this 1.5 months after release??? How has people's interest in the game help up???
I'm definitely in the same boat. My interest has been waning. I've been switching from dynasty to RTG to Heisman to get different "tastes" and keep me around. But I don't think it will last long for me. Guild Wars 2 (and maybe Madden too) will be the game that pulls me away likely...
Jaymo, you're not the only one. I'm not getting nearly involved in the game-to-game action as I used to. But, at the same time, I'm not feeling that way about any games now. Or, if I do, it's pretty damn rare. inFamous was satisfying to finish, but a lot of the missions were "just get it over with". Mass Effect 2 was the same way -- loved the story, but the actual gameplay didn't pull me in the way it's supposed to.
I remember back on NCAA 2004, I had to stop playing a dynasty as Ohio State because I kept losing to Iowa, quitting, and then losing again. It was unacceptable for me to lose to Iowa; I wouldn't let it happen. Part of that is because I was a Buckeye student at the time and a member of the student section. We had beaten Iowa that year, so I wouldn't let us lose.
The other part is that I was just more immature then tooWhen I was younger, I used to play repeated attempts of the same demo, over and over again, just to play the game. The NCAA titles in particular, from all the studios. Last night I didn't even get past halftime of Madden before I was done with it. I just don't care.
Now, all that being said ... I'm about to spend the next two or three hours messing around inside my OD ... because the OD itself has me hooked, even though the games really don't.

Maybe all of that and playing the CPU just isn't fun. I can almost fall asleep playing the CPU that is how disinterested i am into playing a game against them. They do the same types of things and are just boring to play. I find myself just calling random plays and going through the motions.
Years back in the house we never played CPU, it was always against one another. Even when we in played dynasties a different teams, the other person would be the CPU team so we never had to play them. Then when online gaming started off we played other people around the country.
I never would get past Week 2-3 in any Dynasty or Franchise I played by myself in either Madden or NCAA.
So today I only play other Users in Madden and won't play CPU.
The CPU will never be able to give me the same experience. No matter how sliders are tweaked, the game designed, etc. People have to go out of their way just to get a reasonable experience. Use to be that you just set the difficulty (us anyway) to the hardest difficulty and just played the game...that was house rule.
Don't know but I enjoy the game so much more playing against other people and not the ones in the lobby looking for exploits.
Skip brings up a good point. Back when I was playing the hell out of NCAA 2004, I'd never played another user outside of my college roomie (who would just call one play over and over) or a few guys down the hall. It was just me and the CPU (and sliders from AustinWolv). So I had Dynasty threads and backstories and all this extra work that I was doing. Now I have neither the time nor the interest to do all of that extra work. Plus with the OD, I don't really need to.

Same for me back in college. All the guys played Madden and College football against one another in each others room. We would have a tournament every night it seemed. Even when I was much younger, we would have tournaments, Only way you could even play the computer was if you were the last one up after everyone else fell asleep at like 4 or you got up super early before people woke up. There was always someone who had "next".
Back then we might not have been as picky (atleast some of us) as to how the CPU played or their decision making. But the smarter, more informed and more aware of technology that is out there....and the fact that we are paying the amount of money for these games. Makes us a bit more pickier as to what is happening in the game.
I sure wasn't worried about how the CB's played the flats in Cover 2 playing Madden in the early and mid 90's. Now if I keep seeing the flats open on against a standard Cover 2 I'd be a little upset.
It passes the time as a good hobby. I've been gaming since I can remember playing Atari, always have enjoyed it so I will look to continue doing so lol
