Ram, it's extremely aggravating when someone gives you a link to answer your question, yet you're too lazy to click on it and/or read it. If you go to the link that SmoothPancakes gave you, the very first result gives you answers to all of life's questions. His link also points out that if you took 10 seconds to type in 'what's folding@home ?' into Google, it would give you the answers you're looking for.

the link doesnt answer how playstation does it or why he is. You assume that answers a question when all it does is link a basic definition about something I neither understand or care about.
The problem with you people all sucked into the internet age is you dont know where to understand that the info is not the answer. I want his perspective of why and what he's doing with it.

Your aggravation is pointless and self centered( thats an observation,not an insult). God, you kids think the computer is the answer to everything and you possess no wisdom otherwise.
I'm looking for a personal answer from a specific person about something. If they want to share, thats fine. I'm not researching everything I come across LOL.

In this case, it was not self-centered, it was actually for the good of the message board so that you would actually understand that that frustration exists.

It's the same as has happened numerous times... you ask a question that you're not actually interested enough to find the information for yourself. Instead you want someone else to find it... and then when someone gives you an answer, you essentially brush it off as though you didn't really care in the first place.

When you have questions about someone's personal experience, how about ask that question. Instead, you asked what it was (which you could have easily found yourself)... then later followed it up with a how (which you could have found out for yourself) when, according to you, the why was what you were actually after in the first place.

It's not about the internet age... it's about learning things for yourself, no matter the source. I was taught at an early age (you know before the internet), if you're interested in something, find out about it, on your own. If you ask me the answer to a general question, you're much less likely to remember than if you went out and found that answer yourself.

I already stated, I'm interested in Jeffs involvement of it and what he is doing with it and why. Researching the thing doesnt answer the question for me.

I could care less what "other" forums are bothered by in relation to me. Unless I do something illegal or troll-tastic theres nothing to take seriously or be bothered by.

But the only game ive ever got with you was one madden game and then I had to quit the league because of some schooling i was doing. I came here to play EA ncaa with all the core guys here but you are always to involved in you dynasties or another game or something. I'm always the one asking to play on psn but i either get a no response or a busy one so I gave up. Now the new game is out and i still gotta bother people to get a possible game.

that said, I wont apologise for certain views. I can agree to disagree on a million things. Thats not going to get in the way of just playing a game online with them.

There are some posters that I still have a bad taste in my mouth because they would ask questions that were easily answered by either their textbook or the Internet, yet they'd ask for help on a forum. It was years ago (which is probably an indication that I don't let shit go), and one of those posters is now a GameChanger (though not frequently on this site).

Because it's a way to contribute to something positive when my PS3 would otherwise be shutdown or idle. It's the same reason that I used to run SETI@home on my home PC, and tried to get it installed on every system in the Ohio State Computer Science dept. Both programs use a PC's clock cycles to perform calculations that would otherwise take a massive server farm. It's called distributed computing.

I never took offense by it at all... it's just completely unnecessary. Why do you consider me some sort of celebrity or otherwise when all I do is post videos? Hell, those videos don't even get all that many views. Again, it wasn't that I was offensive; I don't find you altogether offensive, it's just very odd that you want to point out that I'm famous for something that's very trivial... it's a hobby.


All of this though is news to you because you just don't get it. You never have. That's why people tease you and say "ole ram"... it's because they get tired of smacking their real life forehead after reading your comments. Your views are extremely odd at times and you draw the strangest lines in the sand. Two very recent examples are the scuffle you had about being a "true fan" of a team or not and the bully video. In both cases, you not only took a completely different viewpoint from anyone else on the board, but you did so all the while not being able to recognize that you were alone. It's OK to be alone in an argument, but at some point you have to realize that there's a reason why you're probably alone and either recognize why or just move on.

But at end end of the day, they know how to communicate, they know how to participate, and they know how to do it in a social environment. This is a social environment. You seem to struggle to socialize with the rest of the board. Instead you get lost in your own world and not realize that we're not participating along with you. You'll notice that in general I don't really respond to "hey, great video" or such compliments whether from you or anyone else, but if you want to converse and type out complete thoughts, ask relevant questions and such, I'll gladly respond, whether to my videos or any other topics I'm interested in. Again, these are just some examples of what frustrate me and they frustrate others. Looking back over your posts, I imagine you'll see quite a few replies that are asking what you're talking about or or something else that just there to signify that you're posting non-sense. I've not said anything before because as mentioned previously... you're a nice enough guy, but enough is is enough. It's time you became aware of this because it's clear that everyone's subtle attempts to clue you in have not worked.

And no, none of this personal for me. But as a founder of this site, and speaking for other members that already tonight have said "right on" in regards to these posts, I'm aiming to improve the site and make it something I enjoy participating in. I don't enjoy scowling at my computer monitor and thinking "WTF is he even saying?" I'm aiming to make this a place that has guys that get along, have fun, and enjoy each other's company. Whether they play the game and discuss it, stay in our off-topic section, or whatever... the goal of this place is to fill a niche that cdj, JB & myself thought was missing.

Whether your age is 47, 15, 32 or whatever, everyone needs to be self-aware and have a sense of what kind of vibe they're giving off. Again G basically takes the words out of my mouth. I definitely agree, me and Mors come off as negative at times. That's mainly because I'm a blunt person. I don't sugarcoat my comments and opinions. I'll tell someone straight up my thoughts or opinions on this or that. I've always been a blunt person, I'll always be a blunt person. Am I always negative, definitely not. In fact, I'd almost say I'm either equal positive and negative, or maybe even slightly more positive than negative. I'll help out with questions in various threads, help with feedback, give answers to stuff, and help out some of the new posters. I'm always happy to give information when actually requested (see the Service Academy Recruiting thread that souljahbill started, and in which Jeff directly addressed a question to me and typed out a thought behind the question, instead of just asking "why...how" like ram, and in return, I took the time to pull up multiple sources of information and make a long and informational post in response to his question).

When the need to be blunt and (if needed) negative arises, then I will do so. Little Steve was one example. I tried to be tactful and let stuff go, it didn't work. Eventually, being blunt and over the head with a shovel with him was what it took. Would all that have worked and he become a contributing member over time in the future, we'll never know now because he circumvented his temp ban and got a permanent boot. I would have liked to see what kind of member he would become in the future after that night, but stuff happens, I won't lose sleep over it.

Along with being blunt, I also know when to just not say a damn word. There have been threads and things that I would start typing out a response to something, either stop midway through or type the entire post, and after rereading it and thinking about it, back out and not post it, either because it may have caused arguments (PSU thread) or my intention with the post would have missed it's target. I'd say, this week alone, there are probably 10 different posts that I never made because of various reasons, backing out and not posting it and going on about my business.

Part of the friction between me and ram in the past is exactly what the last 24 hours of posts have been about. I've been blunt before when trying to explain this or that to ram in the past, and all I get is "lol...LOL......why...how come...I don't care...oh well..." Like G, it's irritating and annoying. Take last night, I didn't even know what Folding@Home was, I don't have a PS3 and hadn't heard of it before. Instead of sitting here asking why, why, how, what for, why, I took a whole 10 seconds to type PS3 Folding@Home into Google and had multiple links explaining what it was for and what it did. Bingo, I had my answer and didn't sit here asking repeated questions about it, expecting someone else to do the legwork for me (the main reason I posted the LMGTFY link in response to ram's "what is that" question).

It's one thing to address a question specifically to someone about a specific topic and give a reason behind your questions (I directed and addressed a question to Jeff just a bit earlier tonight about tricking the CPU into scheduling 12 games for teams when some teams seem to end up with 11 games every season, because from his post, he sounded like he knew exactly what to do and so I had a valid reason to expect whatever answer he may give me, would be better explained and detailed than any answer I may find in a Google search), it's another thing to just sit there asking "why...why...how...how come...why..." and then turn around and say "oh well I don't care, just wondering, just asking", or whatever it is exactly that ram says.

I was alone here on this forum with a certain viewpoint....so what? Where is that a problem of any kind?

I already explained to you that I'm older... the fact is you wont understand alot of my perspective until you get there.


This is not a social environment, its words on a forum board while sitting alone,typing . A social environment is actual human interaction in person.

I would say I'm incredibly self aware. Thats how i'm able to have differing viewpoints from the masses. People not liking them doesnt concern me as long as i'm not out to hurt them on purpose.
