Ohio State Champ Comes to Aid of Fellow Runner Yet Some Belittle Act
However, as I read through several great pieces on what happened, and watched the video of Meghan’s uncompromising act of kindness (imbedded above), I couldn’t help but notice reference to some individuals’ negative, belittling comments. A little miffed, I hunted some of them down, and to be frankly honest, upon reading them, I was pissed!!!
Things like, and I quote:
"Hey! Way to make a stupid childish gesture showing you have no conception of what 'competition' means."
“…while she probably had good intentions, the girl who had fallen was less than 20 meters from the finish. No need to act like this is the bravest (or even most selfless) act ever committed!!”
“It was dam race(not life and dead)…... let the girl finish or crawl on her own(or not finish), that would of been the thing to do and see (a video I could respect)….instead many are making this out to be like a soldier carrying the wounded back to safety…....which this video implies!”
"Gimme a damn break… Both girls knew they were going to get major credit for doing this.”
“She should have stood over her and began berating her to motivate her to get up and run. You can't foster weakness. It must be eradicated in order for humanity to regain what its lost.”
“Sure she is special and should be in the retarded olympics.”
Where the heck do I start?

I'll go ahead and save mors the time.

God I fuckin' hate people.
Just goes to show, if it isn't already completely dead then it's damn near, that sportsmanship from the spectator's perspective is dead. Which isn't surprising when I've seen and heard kids in football get heckled or get crap from their parents because they helped a kid on the opposing team up off the ground after a play or tackle.
Mors, where's your gold name and Donator tag under your name?![]()
If you go look at Facebook, posting non-anonymously doesn't necessarily stop the bullshit, it just gives a name to the bullshit.
Yes. I think it notifies you ~a week before it expires. You can also go check through your Settings. The Paid Subscription link tells you when your current subscription expires.

so? what makes it special? one girl who already won a race didnt have the stamina for the next race and the other wasnt conditioned and ready for hers.
again, whats so great about it? its a nice little gesture and all but no big deal...it wouldnt make her evil if she hadnt done it, its just something she decided to do. And I'm not going to compare contrast it to
all the bad parents who teach or develop bad sportsmanship in their kids or whether a guy on a football field decides to help another when theyre all on the ground..no one is dying, no special kids are getting a moment in the sun...a girl just lost a race = no big deal.
I'm not going to condone negative comments about it either, I wont laugh at the girls for doing what they did...but its still not a big deal.
Does anyone on here have Direct TV? I am moving in about a week and am looking at getting it because if you sign up for the Choice Extra Package you get Sunday Ticket for free. The question I have is that it says it is $34.99 after the rebate, so how much is the rebate? I am just looking at finding out about how much my monthly bill might be. We have Brighthouse right now and they suck, so if I can get TV and Internet for less than the around $110 I would pay for them I would be fine.
According to the "DirectStarTV" website: "Reg Price 68.99".
You also have to sign up with a 2-year contract. And, according to the same site, the Choice package is $34.99 after rebate (63.99 reg), while the Choice Xtra is $39.99 (68.99 reg). (Ah, apparently DirecTV itself has reduced those by $5 across the board, versus what DirectStarTV is re-selling)
Featured package names and prices: ENTERTAINMENT $54.99/mo.; CHOICE $63.99/mo.; CHOICE XTRA $68.99/mo.; CHOICE ULTIMATE $74.99/mo.; PREMIER $119.99/mo. Prices include the following bill credits for 12 months after rebate: $25 for ENTERTAINMENT; $29 for CHOICE and CHOICE XTRA; $30 for CHOICE ULTIMATE and PREMIER; plus an additional $5 with online rebate and consent to email alerts. In months 13-24, bill credit will be $10/mo. Upon DIRECTV System activation, customer will receive rebate redemption instructions (included in customer's first DIRECTV bill, a separate mailing, or, in the state of New York, from retailer) and must comply with the terms of the instructions. In order to receive $30 monthly credits for ENTERTAINMENT, $34 monthly credits for CHOICE and CHOICE XTRA, or $35 monthly credits for CHOICE ULTIMATE and PREMIER, in the first 12 months, customer must submit rebate online (valid email address required) and consent to email alerts prior to rebate redemption.

Ryby, if you don't already have a refferer, let me know and I can give you my account number so we both might get a discount ($10 a month for 10 months).
