But, you have to admit that even with a horrible win-loss record, being dead last or nearly dead last in all defensive categories is most likely based more on poor defensive performance overall and less a product of their win/loss records. With enough offense, I'm sure they could outscore opponents and win the games, while still having an atrociously bad defense.

Oh, absolutely (look at the Patriots). I just saw an opportunity to do a satirically-stuck-up post on raw statistics over Opponent-Adjusted numbers and took it. Was solely meant for chuckles.

True, I am/was just using raw numbers there. Unfortunately, I have neither the time or nor the desire to put in the effort to get opponent-adjusted statistics, unless someone else would like the honors.

Yeah, very few people have the time for that. I'm hoping I can figure out the "secret" one of these days to making that conversion easy. I know the raw numbers aren't giving me the statistical results I'm looking for, but I can't figure out the best way to adjust them either. Too many options.

Yeah, I needed that. And interestingly, I already simulated all of the week 12 games in the Sun Belt Conference, ahead of my game with Florida Atlantic, and what do you know, Arkansas State beat Mid Tennessee State in week 12 by the score of, 45-3. The poor Blue Raiders, receiving 45-3 ass beatings in back to back weeks from me and Arkansas State.

Yeah, that's going to be an exciting game. I'm going to go against the conventional predictions and say Mississippi State wins by either 3, 4 or 7 in a down the last second battle.

As for FIU, I'm going to try and get Florida Atlantic played tonight. About to make dinner, chicken fried steak, but I already cut up, pounded out and prepared the meat ahead of time earlier this afternoon, so it's just a matter of bringing all the ingredients and stuff together to start cooking. So it'll either be another late evening/overnight game, or I'll get it played during the afternoon tomorrow. Then comes the #1/#2 showdown after the FAU game. I'm still debating on either just simming it or actually taking the time to watch it CPU vs. CPU.

For the record, this isn't dead again guys. Since I played my last game, there have been some changes to the layout of my entertainment room, and an old laptop stand that I had been using, allowing me to play the games and have my laptop sitting right next to me, letting me type up everything during the game as it happened, is no longer being used and has been trashed. So right now I have my laptop sitting on a shelf 15 feet away and don't really have a set up to let me sit here and use it full time, just in brief periods here and there. So it's made typing up game recaps a little difficult.

Right now my plan is to finish out season 3 over the next month or so, get to the offseason and see what happens during the coaching carousel. Since my contract runs out at the end of the current season, I may make a jump to another team. What I'm going to do then, since I doubt that we got a Continue Dynasty option added to NCAA 13, I'm going to put the dynasty on hold until NCAA 13 comes out. The good thing there, is as I would be copying my current team at that time over player by player, rating by rating, I can just auto name all the players on the release day roster. So while it would be the same players on the various teams from years one and two in this dynasty, they'd at least be named differently so it'd seem somewhat like it's 2014, and not actually 2012, in the dynasty.

I've said it before and I'll continue to say it ... not having Continue Dynasty puts people like Smooth (and myself, in the past) in the position of choosing between continuing to play an old version of NCAA, or paying for the new version. Unfortunately, we'll never move the needle enough for that to matter, but lost sales are lost sales!

For me I am in my 9th season. My goal is still to get to Indiana. However, do I keep playing until the carousel offers? Then. What? How many seasons would I get in before 13 drops? What is the point of switching only to have the new game come out before I accomplish anything? I am amazed more people don't share our sentiment.

Oh, I absolutely do as well. Basically makes doing dynasties at all INCREDIBLY tedious because you have to take the time to move everyone over and all that shit if you truly want to have a realistic representation of your team in the new game (only to be playing against the same players that you already played against in your second season on the previous version of the game.

I just don't see how it's possible that it's THAT difficult to do. One little flag for determining what year it is in the dynasty and a roster file saying that the coaches are these coaches and the players are these players with these ratings and viola, continued dynasty.

They should have something like Mass Effect where you can carry stuff over from the previous version. Like load roster files...dynasty etc from a old save just have it work....NOW!

There are reasons you couldn't always port a dynasty straight from one version to the next, though those are the rarity rather than the rule. I could understand why a full-blown "load existing dynasty from past game" isn't in, but work-arounds should be there ... like exporting a single team, exporting a dynasty as a roster file, etc, etc.

I get what you're saying, but Mass Effect is a horrible comparison. The two situations are almost nothing alike.

Yeah, I know. I tried to think of another example too and came up blank. Mass Effect is like Ratchet & Clank and other similar games though ... it acknowledges that you played the previous game, allows your actions in the previous game to influence the new title ... and that's about it. Practically no game has the "continue your last game here" option (which may be why we haven't seen it in many sports games, and why more people aren't clamoring for it). Even Mass Effect, as well done as it is, is extremely limited in what it ports from one title to the next.

I've been meaning to get the rest of my current season played for weeks now, but haven't had a chance. Gonna try to get on here shortly and at least get the next game knocked, maybe try to go for a two-fer tonight if I can, as the next chance to play probably wouldn't be until Saturday evening or Sunday.

I know, I am so horrible at staying on track, sitting down and actually getting games played when it comes to NCAA.

I'm going through a couple shows on my DVR right now and for a bit longer this morning to get it cleared up and clear up some space. Then I'm gonna jump into NCAA and try to knock these games out.

I think I might just ultimately sim these games. I spent the last hour and a half playing Florida Atlantic, was down 20-0 after the first quarter, managed to come back and make it 20-18 at halftime thanks to a touchdown, a safety and three field goals. Only to have the fucking power flicker out momentarily (the third time it's done that since I woke up at 6am), and lose everything.

Not to mention, after playing the demo, this game (12) is now starting to piss me off constantly. The super LBs and the corners flying through the air from the hash marks to knock down a pass to my receiving in the middle of the field 5 yards away is now seriously getting on my fucking nerves after experiencing the game play from 13. I was already about ready to say fuck it after the first quarter, after my QB threw 13 STRAIGHT incomplete passes thanks to all the fucking leaping and jumping and flying linebackers, corner backs and safeties.

I think I'm just going to say screw it and sim the games, or at least super sim them (both offense and defense). Between the CPU defense pissing me off play after play, this goddamn power, and I am not going to sit here playing every single one of these last couple games two or three (or however many it takes) times just to actually get all the way through them without having the power take a shit and lose everything and the hours I spent playing and typing and working on this dynasty.
