I am not big on buying strategy guides as wiki pages usually have any info I truly need, but this has been the most interesting strat guide I have read in years...lol.

Plus its easier to take the "throne" than my tablet.

I was tempted to buy the hardcover version. It's like $22 at Amazon. Maybe in a week or two.

Hardcover guide is sold out now...so I'll wait til they restock it. It was a nice price for a hardcover strategy guide.

Finally Big Brown shows and for the second time I get the package and the 360 box is broken at the top from typical UPS mistreatment. Fortunately disc seems fine and installing now as we speak. Of course doing so with the fear of blurry textures in my future.

Wow they really compressed some stuff as I just installed Skyrim to the 360 and it was on 3.8GB. Obilivion was 5.9GB installed on the 360. Wonder if this might have something to do with low res textures when you install to HD?

Yes, the textures are SIGNIFICANTLY lower than that of the PC version.

I take them and never read them. Rumor has it there are 300 or so around in Skyrim. Some are spell books which you open and they go away. I never spent enough time playing Oblivion to find out. I am just hoping to be able to sell them or something.

So far I am having a blast. Killed a hunters dog by mistake (thought it was a wolf) and then had to kill the hunter because he was not happy that I did such a thing. Then on the way to the first quest you go at alone I waled casually down the river and picked more flowers than Richard Simmons at a flower shop.

Who all did you pick and what did you name your character?

Went with the Nord and named him Vlad the Impaler.

Only if you want to sell them for profit do you need to take them.

The ones tgat you open and they go away mean you have learned that spell and now it is in your arsenal.

I went with a nord that looks like the lead singer of Nickelback just named him JB. Nothing interesting.

I went with a Khajiit, I think that's what they're called, and named him Lion-O of Thundera

Picked up the PC version this afternoon. Told the family that they may not see me for a while.

i made myself an imperial, called him Marcus the Mad.

killed my first dragon just now. and damn, at level 5, even with 20 guards on my side, it took a solid 15 minutes just to kill it.

my only complaint so far, is that the subtitles and building descriptions/names are hard for me to read on my 20" tv.
