I am a lesbian trapped in a makes body so it looks like some good ol fashioned girl on girl action for me.

Not going to marry her though.

    From Joystiq:

When The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim arrives in stores this November (likely by way of carrier dragon), it'll assuredly feature many, many hours of content. Nevertheless, gamers will want more, and Bethesda has promised post-launch content to be of the "substantial" variety. The first two pieces of that content will arrive exclusively on Xbox Live Marketplace at least "30 days before it's available anywhere else."
I was going to get it on 360 anyway but this definitely solidifies it.

Meh. It eventually makes it's way to PS3 I don't need it day 1 that it is available on 360. Though in the end I may end up getting it for both systems.

Parts of those videos have been shown before (mainly part 3)...but damn this game looks great.

I rarely do this but I am not watching any gameply footage of this game. Other than having seen the first trailer I want to go into this one fresh.

I agree. No trailer is going to help me decide whether or not I like a game. Gotta play it to know for sure (I swear, if they fuck up the leveling system and the story again, I'm done with Bethesda).

I normally don't, but I definitely wanted to see this. Doesn't give too much away, shows a good amount of a particular cave (1 of 150 in the game). I am VERY VERY VERY excited for this game.

In regards to the leveling system do you not like that the monsters level up with you? If so you might avoid Dead Island because the zombies level up along side you. Does not really bother me that much as it adds to the challenge.

I really wish I could get on this hype train. I've tried so many times to get into Oblivion but it's TOO FUCKING BIG!!! (That's what she said). It's saddening to me to know that I could never get into Oblivion like I thought I would. I was just too overwhelmed by the scope of the game and I need/like my games more linear.

That's why I love it. Did you ever fast travel?

Yeah, I tried that but it felt like it defeated the purpose. Also, I kept running or jumping or something so I could level up my athleticism or something like that. I spent hours just picking locks just to level that up.

My main issue with the leveling system is that, by making all monsters level up with you (with no real divergence in that system or even a cap in that system) you have giant rats that are just as powerful as a Troll or a Skeleton and that just doesn't sit well with me. Fallout did something similar but it was completely nullified by your ability to basically headshot 95% of the enemies you ran into during the game. But, the thing that Fallout added that made it better than Oblivion was a cap in both minimum and maximum levels for the enemies in the game. So you didn't run into a level 19 bandit near the beginning of the game. He was like level 5 or even level 10. You didn't have shit where you had an epic fight against a god damn Mudcrab because he was level 25 just because you're level 25. That's just silly.

As long as they follow what they started with Fallout's leveling system, it will be ok. I still despise, with a passion, their level up system of the more you use something, the better you are with it. It's really dumb because it completely lacks any real curve in the leveling of it. It's pretty much a straight line from level 1 to level 99 in that skill and results in not being able to play the game in a variety of ways because you are screwed in the long run because your levels in various skills are far too low.

I will definitely try to play the game on the PC without any mods, but, as soon as it gets ruined for me because of their dumb ideals on how a leveling system should work (and, believe me, I'm VERY confident that it will be terrible, just like Oblivion's was) I will immediately start using one of the three leveling mods that I'm sure will be made available by the same people that made their leveling mods for Morrowind and Oblivion.

So, I got bored and watched the videos. First thing I notice, the enemy is still incredibly dumb and just stands around as you kill them from the shadows without reacting at all. God I hope that's not the case in the retail version of the game.

Did you play on PC? With mods?

Because after just a few level ups, rats and mud crabs were done with one swipe, among other things like wolves. Right now I'm level 16 on this playthrough and I can waste a troll pretty easily too.

Yes, I did. But I also played it vanilla on the PC and it was atrocious. Yes, I was over embellishing on the Mud Crabs, but it's definitely not the case with monsters in dungeons. Skeletons, bandits, etc shouldn't be epic battles at every turn.

My biggest issue is, because of them doing what they do with the auto-level ups for enemies, you only run into, at most, two enemies at once.

In my opinion, Oblivion is only playable with mods and, if you haven't played it with mods, you have no idea what you're missing.
