What happened with your issues of the camera and mic being always on? Being serious for a change, I want to know. I had four original Xboxes, one for each tv all linked for Halo parties with my friends. Had to go through three 360's (red rings)before I gave up on the thing. Had my mind made up as a consumer before anything was ever announced. With all the unfriendly restrictions and settings on this machine there is no exclusive game that could earn my $$$. If you don't have a problem with it fine that's one thing its another to deny the reality that Kinect 2.0 requires you to give up some "privacy rights". I GUARANTEE you it will eventually leak that MS has either (1) sold info it has learned to other companies and/or (2) the government uses it to collect information on you (for the good of the country of course).
You can turn off the voice commands completely so that it's not listening for anything. You then couldn't turn on the system with voice commands, obviously, but at least it can all be disabled. I mean, even if it did constantly listen to me and couldn't be disabled, it's not like I have anything to hide. :DQuote:

It's their own fuckin' fault for making a shitty console that REQUIRES a shitty peripheral that drove the price up to work. Hope they die just like Nintendo is dying.
Until console companies finally figure out that the same market that buys the majority of their entertainment on their fuckin' phone or a tablet is NO WHERE CLOSE to the same market that is buying their consoles, they are going to continue to be fucked by forcing dumbass peripherals on their consumers. The Wii was a blip on the console gaming map and not indicative of things to come. The Wii was successful because of how cheap it was and the fact that it came with some shit that grandma could play and think was a video game (Wii Golf was pretty fuckin' fun though ;)). Nintendo software sales should be a crystal clear indication of why the Wii was successful. Everyone paid $150 for a Virtual Tennis, Bowling, and Golf game that anyone can pick up and play. They didn't pay $150 for anything else, as the Wii's software sales CLEARLY indicated.
So, fuck Microsoft and their hubris. Hope they get what they deserve for thinking they can peddle some Kinect bullshit onto people.

I do not hope MS fails, I do hope they are forced to change the business model they have put before the consumer. The market pushing back is the only way any business changes/rethinks its models. In addition, if video gaming is a viable market and attractive to business I assure you that if MS "fails" and pulls out some one will correct their error(s) and get in the game. Whether that is Apple, Samsung or L.G. no one knows.
Personally, I'm still undecided. Right now if you'd ask me, I'd probably go PS4 at launch and then get the One when Titanfall comes out, however, that's always subject to change. I certainly don't wish for one of these guys to do so horribly that they exit the console wars. My friends are all major Sony supporters, and I've been telling them this for weeks: if Microsoft doesn't exist, there is ZERO chance the PS4 costs $399. I think that depends entirely upon Microsoft. They're going to fairly quickly have to match Sony in price or pull the wool over consumer's eyes by offering a $299 box with a 2 year contract. Then they're going to have to get cracking on bringing exclusive games to their system. If they do what they did early in the 360's life, they'll be just fine. If they do what they did the last 2 or 3 years (focus on entertainment, Kinect, and maybe 1 big exclusive per year), they're going to get smoked.
That's IF people are accepting of the 24 hour check, mandatory Kinect, and then the really confusing stance on used games. Who knows, I personally think it'll at least sell well out of the gates but I think it's going to be in a big hole if the supply issues are true.
That is not even close to the case. While I think they completely flubbed it with the WiiU, it will still end up making them money in the long run. Once a NEW Mario and Zelda are released this will go back to normal (I might even jump on the bandwagon for a new Zelda). They have been living without full 3rd party support for a long time.
