EA SPORTS has posted a blog covering the latest updates coming to NBA LIVE 14. These updates include rosters, ratings, uniforms, and even player appearances/gear.

After pre-release plans to have the game update within a hour of something happening in the NBA fell short, the game required major updates to allow for the addition of the Live Update system so EA SPORTS could push through manual roster, uniform, and other game updates.

The latest roster update provides 500+ rating updates, updated rosters (such as Danny Granger to the Clippers), and Noche Enebea & St Patrick’s Day jerseys. The most drastic visual change includes LeBron James' beard and clear protective mask. ...

Following a delay from the original November launch date and a prolonged lack of communication since October, Ubisoft has unveiled a new story trailer for Watch Dogs and a release date of May 27, 2014. The launch date covers all platforms except the Wii U, which is being developed at Ubisoft Romania instead of Ubisoft Montreal as they work to leverage the "unique features" of the console. A 2014 Wii U launch is "a possibility" according to producer Dominic Guay, however rumors of a Wii U cancellation have surrounded the game for weeks and the tentative tone will not alleviate those concerns. ...

Rocksteady Games has officially announced Batman: Arkham Knight, the conclusion to their popular Batman: Arkham series with the game setting occurring one year after the events of 2009's Batman: Arkham City.

Expected to release on October 14 for PlayStation 4, X-Box One, and PC, the game will feature a drive-able Batmobile in a world five times as large as that found in Arkham City, split into three major areas. Villains announced for the game include Scarecrow, Harley Quinn, Two Face, Penguin, and the "Arkham Knight" - a new Gotham villain created specifically for the game by Rocksteady & DC. ...

The Madden NFL team is looking to fans to help re-design team logos and uniforms for relocated teams within Connected Franchise.

The game currently features seventeen cities for re-location with three team options for each. Designs for new cities and teams will be accepted, however entrants are encouraged to use those currently in the game.

From Senior Designer Josh Looman: "The uniforms in our Relocation Mode looked good last year, but I thought we could take them to the next level. I wanted to make them feel a little more modern, a little more cutting-edge. Our whole goal in Madden is to create a product that looks like the NFL, that feels like the NFL. So we want something eye-catching, but not so crazy that it would look completely out of place in the NFL, or like something a high school team would wear."

Wednesday morning, the (unverified) EA SPORTS NBA JAM Twitter account asked followers to "Retweet if you’re ready for a new NBA JAM!"

The account had been inactive since April 18, 2012 until a handful of random tweets on February 9 and 10. Those tweets mentioned Blake Griffin, Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Damian Lillard, as well as the NBA, the Philadelphia 76ers, the Los Angeles Clippers, and Bleacher Report. (It is worth noting that that Griffin, Durant, and James are all former/current NBA 2K cover athletes.)

EA SPORTS released NBA JAM in fall 2010 and NBA JAM: On Fire Edition in October 2011. A third iteration of the game would not be surprising given a playtest session at EA Canada last April and following a roster update for the Android version of NBA JAM in late January.

The much anticipated "significant" NBA Live 14 game update is now available for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox Live. Included in the update is a new shootaround mode, graphical improvements, gameplay enhancements, the 2014 All-Star Game uniforms & court, and much more.

The EA Sports/CLC and NCAA lawsuit(s) continue to make their way through the legal system, however it appears that one major aspect will take place this month.

The NCAA's attempt to halt the EA SPORTS/CLC settlement was rejected by the Supreme Court and the settlement is expected to be finalized this month. That belief comes from an attorney drafting the document, although terms have yet to be filed to a federal court for preliminary approval. A motion hearing in the case will take place on January 22. The settlement will still need to be approved by a judge with a final hearing taking place to hear any objections.

The EA SPORTS/CLC settlement occurred with Ed O'Bannon and Keller plaintiffs and similar suits filed by former West Virginia football player Shawne Alston and Hart. The NCAA did not settle and has since sued co-defendants EA and CLC, alleging they failed to protect the NCAA in settlement talks. ...
