NBA 2K's Mike Wang has written the first gameplay blog of the year for NBA 2K18 detailing on the court improvements coming to the title.
The most noteworthy item of the blog is the change away from an animation-driven system to a new motion engine that is driven by stick input and player's attributes all done on the fly. One of the more long-standing complaints of the NBA 2K franchise was their reliance on animations, some long and drawn out.
Other points of interest from the blog: improved pull-up jumper game, new triple threat jabs and fakes, walking size-ups and combos, Receiver Control, improvements to steals and blocks, more varieties and outcomes in hustle plays, and more.
