As we approach one month before the release of EA SPORTS PGA TOUR, the development team has been sharing additional, in-depth game info via Community FAQs and developer blogs. Combing through the multiple entries, here are some brief highlights:

    - Cross-play will not be in the game at launch, but EA is "constantly evaluating the possibility of this feature appearing post-launch." However, EA did add that "cross-Platform progression is available for your created golfer so you can save your gear, outfits, and achievements to access your created golfer across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox."

    - On consoles, the game will run at 30 FPS, while on PC it can run at 30 fps, 60 fps, or unlocked framerate.

    - Online game modes support simultaneous play for up to 16 players and includes Competitive, Social, and Private Match. Offline game modes include Quick Play, Career Mode, Challenges, and (limited-time) Tournaments.

    - Weather impacts include altitude and wind.

    - "In game, we represent [the best times to show each course/hole in its best light] as 3 different “tee” times, morning, mid day and late afternoon, across 4 unique “Biomes”. Each of the 4 biomes , Humid subtropical, Mediterranean, Oceanic and Desert, have varying lighting conditions, levels of contrast, clouds and atmospheric haze etc. to give each course a unique look based on its location and the time of day that you are playing."

    - The 3-click swing system is currently planned for addition in a title update shortly after launch.

    - "There are four options for camera height when addressing the ball with the ability to set your default preference for normal swings and putting independently. There are three different camera packages for tracking the ball while it’s in flight. ... Additionally, there is also a pre-shot “Zoom” camera that allows you to preview the landing area of your upcoming shot. You have complete freedom to control the zoom camera’s rotation and depth along with three options for its height."

    - Created players will have "have 12 different swing animations to choose from, seven male and five female."

    - The game will launch with 28 real-life courses and two fictional. The 202 major courses will be added after release. (Continue on to see the current live service timeline and more.) ...

The official EA SPORTS PGA TOUR website FAQ has disclosed the initial course and golfer offerings for the title when it launches on March 24.

The game will feature 30 golf courses (28 real, two fantasy) and nine golfers. The course offerings are highlighted by Augusta National, St. Andrews, TPC Sawgrass, and Pebble Beach, among others. The two fantasy courses are Wetlands and Lighthouse Pointe, both of which appeared in 2015's Rory McIlroy PGA TOUR, EA's last console golf offering.

The golfer list appears thin, however the FAQ does mention to 'check back through the spring for additional content releases,' which implies more golfers and/or courses may be added post-launch. (The 2023 majors courses will arrive after launch and Game Informer reports that EA also aims to add the traditional three-click swing system in a title update.)

Continue on to see the full list of course and golfer options as well as additional game info from the FAQ. What golfers or courses would you like to see added? ...

EA SPORTS PGA TOUR has released the official gameplay trailer for the title featuring the new Pure Strike system and 20 available shot types.

Per EA: Pure Strike gives you all the tools you need to realistically attack every hole on every course the same way the pros do. Featuring ShotLink® powered by CDW and data from TrackMan, Pure Strike helps ensure that each professional golfer’s unique swing and attributes will be accurately reflected in the game. Pure Strike incorporates the three parts of every golf shot: fluid swing mechanics that are highly accurate to a player’s backswing length and speed of follow through, innovative ball behavior allowing every bounce and roll to behave more accurately across a variety of terrain and course conditions, and lifelike course dynamics that play true to their real life course counterparts. ...

There are 20 available shot types in the game and each one is intended to help you succeed when you face a specific, on-course challenge. Each shot type has its own unique profile producing shots with varying ball speeds, launch angles, spin rates, and shot dispersion that you would expect in real life. Each shot type profile is unique per club and per class of golfer trajectory (low, medium, and high), which result in over 1300 unique profiles available in EA SPORTS PGA TOUR.

At launch, the game will feature 30 courses (2023 majors courses coming after launch), the Players Championship and FedExCup Playoffs, and the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) and The Amundi Evian Championship (notably 'several' selectable female athletes and female create-a-golfer options), among other features.

The game will launch on March 24, 2023 with EA Play and EA Play Pro members getting access on March 21.

The game can be pre-ordered on Amazon through our affiliate link.

Today, EA SPORTS has announced a summer 2024 release date for EA SPORTS College Football, confirmed two features (Dynasty Mode & Road to Glory), and released work-in-progress screenshots of the title.

While the February 2, 2021 announcement of College Football's return indicated that generic players may be utilized if NIL rights could not be attained, EA Sports' vice president and general manager Daryl Holt today stated "our intent is to work towards that and find a meaningful way to include them in the game." As of now, all 10 FBS conferences and the College Football Playoff are signed onto the title along with 120 programs. (As of publishing, there is no word on which schools are remaining as holdouts, but EA expects more to join.)

To very little surprise, the first two confirmed game modes are Dynasty Mode and Road to Glory. The WIP screenshots include two of Brutus Buckeye and one of Michigan Stadium in various stages of design.

The information and quotes from Holt came via two ESPN.com articles by Michael Rothstein: "EA Sports to release college football game in summer 2024" and "What to know about the new EA Sports college football video game."

Could College Gameday be coming to EA SPORTS College Football?

On location for tomorrow's College Gameday for Montana vs. Montana State in Bozeman, MT, Matt Brown (of Extra Points with Matt Brown) had the opportunity to interview producers and hosts of the program, including Rece Davis and David Pollack.

    From Brown on Twitter:

    - Pollack "confirms that he WILL be providing voice talent for next year's EA Sports College Football."

    - "Rece Davis told us he's played as Montana a few times in the old EA Sports CFB games. I asked if he'll be in the next one. He smiled, said he isn't sure how he's allowed to answer...but hes gonna be real busy on Monday. (WINK)"

Perhaps the most noteworthy tweet came in a response to community member Nate (Twitter: @OklahomersPod) who asked "WE’RE GETTING GAMEDAY IN THE GAME AREN’T WE." Brown responded solely with a smiling emoji, seemingly suggesting Gameday may be coming to year one of EA SPORTS College Football.

If true, how would you like to see College Gameday incorporated into the game? What are the key aspects you are looking for?
