RE: "The tendancies fix"... are rosters that have names generated by the game screwed up like the human edited ones???
Man, I just skimmed this thread and I am now dumber then before I started....
Question: I downloaded Fairdale King roster before I started my dynasty. Are you telling me that all the players in my dynasty are messed up? So when I play the fast QBs who should be scramblers and run a lot they will be pocket passers? I have Nebraska and O$U left on the schedule, both of these QBs should be inclined to run.
Yes and no.
From what I've gathered, the Player Tendency affects traits and certain player tendencies (EX: likelihood of scrambling) but it doesn't complete ignore player ratings. If Michigan QB #16 takes off, he's still going to be tough to catch. The Stanford QB is still going to have a strong arm and be accurate, though he may scramble more than he will post-patch.
If you keep playing a Dynasty with that file, new players (recruits) that come in each offseason (following the patch) will be corrected. After the patch, the roster file will be fine in Play Now and for new Dynasties.
Pissed off gamers get ignored.
Gamers that actually create CONSTRUCTIVE criticisms are the ones that get heard. Going ballistic over a video game is never going to get your issues solved or even noticed.
Truthfully, if they fixed recruiting where it wasn't a complete fuckin' bore and actually made ratings really and truly matter for every aspect of the game (instead of animations causing certain things to happen no matter what) then I'd be VERY happy with this game.
Bugs happen. It's the bane of every programmer because, no matter how much you spend on quality control and testers, stuff is going to slip through the cracks, especially when you don't have more than probably 4 month to test out everything.
To be fair, we've had a lot of OT discussion (putting it nicely for some posts) in this thread along with a lot of different community speculation over the past two weeks on what may or may not be the case in regards to the rosters. I'm at the point where I have to stop and think what is correct and isn't.![]()
I would guess it doesn't alter recruiting, but I honestly don't know. It depends when the tendency change in the UI occurs and where the game looks for Tendency. (When you go in to edit a player, they have correct tendency listed.)
The game is designed for option teams to place a strong emphasis on recruiting Scrambling quarterbacks and so on.
McDonald's and toilets go hand in hand.
As for intentional grounding it is rarely called in football unless ridiculously obvious. A QB just has to throw it within 10 yards of a receiver and no flag. Guys like Marino constantly threw the ball away to avoid a sack and I like this change.
Any word on the cpu attempting incredibly long and impossible FGs on Heisman?
I think he might be talking about when the CPU QB takes the snap and barely gets into his drop when he'll just wing it out of bounds. Either some sort of glitch thing or else the CPU AI instantly recognizes that you've got a blitz and excellent coverage on all the routes so nowhere to throw.............just a guess because it almost seems like a glitch with how quickly he'll wing it out of bounds.
It seems to really go hand and hand with a blitz so I'd lean more towards that then a glitch. I'd like to see something different in this situation but I don't think it's a glitch so to speak.
I agree with you guys as I think it happens on blitzes that you have coverage locked down as well...........I'll have to pay better attention if the pass being sailed out of bounds is in the direction of a receiver though which means it would be legit by the rules. And if that is the case, how come we don't have that option? Or the one STILL missing all these years to throw a screen pass into the dirt because the screen receiver is covered too well?
