JBHuskers Coaching Carousel Career (Currently Year 1 - Idaho DC)

I have started an offline Coaching Carousel career. Going to start as the DC of Idaho.

I am going with somewhat of a model of what Steelerfan is doing for our private OD (Mac-to-Big Ten) in terms of moving to a job.

    • Any OC or DC job is fair game.
    • First HC Job has to be at a or worse school in a non-BCS conference
    • If I am the HC at a or school, I can make the jump to a school.
    • Once I'm the HC of a school, I can only go up to a job that is more than where I am currently at.
    • If my contract is 1-2 years, I have to at least stay 1 year.
    • If my contract is 3-4 years, I have to stay at least 2 years.
    • If my contract is 5-6 years, I have to stay at least 3 years.
    • If my contract is 7 years, I have to stay at least 4 years.

I am the DC at Idaho, and here are my contract goals:

    Two Year Contract

Feel free to comment along with my season as it progresses.

    Game 1 - W 21-17

    Key Defensive Stats:

Defensive Player of the Game: SS Trey Williams (So.) - 4 Total Tackles, 2 Solo, 2 ATK, 3 TFL, 1 Sack

This was a crazy game. Idaho gave up 17 first half points; while the offense was anemic. That all changed after coming out of the locker room in the 2nd half as the defense under Coach Bennett stepped it up and shut out the Falcons the entire half, and the offense finally came to life. With 2:00 left in the game, Idaho forced a 3 and out which had two sacks in the possession. The Idaho offense then marched down the field with the final 1:30 to get a go ahead touchdown.

Even though it's only one game, it is never too early to analyze the stats. My rushing yards goal is off to a great start, and it can be a great counter-balance if I don't get 4 wins this year. Thankfully game #2 is against North Dakota, so that should put me halfway to my goal there.

How about a Defensive Player of the game or Impact Player?

Too bad you didn't do this online, you could have linked Dynasty Wire to it.

I would think you'd be able to win 4 games this year.

Yeah I think North Dakota, San Jose State, and Utah State should be shoe in's and then an upset or two after that. Going to play game two right now.

Hey guys new to the board but not to NCAA Football. Was just wondering if the coaching carousel career is suppose to be only calling plays or actually playing the games. Thanks for your help and thank you for creating such an awesome board. Waiting to dl the roster for 360 when one comes avaliable.

    Season 1 Game 2 - W 35-18

    Key Defensive Stats:

Defensive Player of the Game: FS Gary Walker (Jr.) - 7 Total Tackles, 6 Solo, 1 ATK, 1 TFL, 1 INT

Not the drubbing of an FCS team that I would have liked. The defense was a little bit worse in this game than they were against Bowling Green. With that said, we did pick off two passes, where last week we didn't have any, and our offense was on point this week as well. I don't think anyone can complain starting the season 2-0 in Potato Country! The first true test of the season will come next week as the Vandals travel to previously ranked Texas A&M; who lost their first game of the season to SMU 36-35.

The symbol looks so much better than the regular font/size @. When next to our logos.

JB, what style defense are you running and are you using a custom book?
So far I'm interested and grats on getting a couple of wins early (I'm happy to have gotten three to start my DC dynasty with a custom school that uses UNT's roster).

After two games, it looks like I'm in good shape with the major goals.

    • Just need two more wins to avoid
    • On pace to only allow 984 rushing yards, well under 2400 which earns me
    • On pace to allow 2802 passing yards, which gives me a little wiggle room to avoid for under 3400 pass yards allowed

Only change is I added the prowl formation from 3-3-5 and am playing my #2 SS as one of the LBs so it's really-1-4-6 instead of 1-5-5.

Fell asleep early last night, but either tonight or tomorrow, I'm going to hammer some games out...I'm excited to start out 2-0. Now hopefully we can get some more butts to pack the Kibbie Dome as attendance has been sparse to start the year. I feel that even if I get a lucrative offer, I will definitely play out my two-year contract. I'm not in any hurry to get glory.
