    Questions:

Is it at all possible for y'all to run some shotgun/short snap plays and post a video of them (run/pass)?
Any way to post how many formations you can use after choosing a base playbook? (example: Florida's book might use 35 of the 40, compared to, lets say...Texas, who uses 37 of 40)
Are we going to get a defensive custom playbook walkthrough like we did with offense?

Thanks for all this stuff that y'all do.

    1) I ran a few plays from the Arizona State version (named differently but it's the same formation) in the gameplay video I posted of Oklahoma State at Arizona State. I actually did so intentionally since I knew you asked about it.
    2) I'll probably eventually cover that in a spreadsheet like I did in the playbook spreadsheet last year, but most likely it will probably be closer to release before I get to anything like that.
    3) I'll see if I can't put one together... I'm still trying to decide what kind of defensive playbook I want to build but I'll try to put one together this weekend at some point

I'm not trying to be a d*ck, but I'm just saying that custom playbooks should solve (almost) any deficiency you might find in Air Force's default playbook.
I understand that, but if I don't have to change much it's a lot easier

    Double Slots

Is 4-2-5 still the only formation with the double slots play? It used to be a play you could run out of other formations (like the Dime) in past versions of the game, and then in NCAA 11 it was limited to the 4-2-5 norma/under/over.

Keontez & Salukifan have lucked out... the Pitt at WVU gameplay video errored out during upload so their video jumped ahead in the queue.

Look at plays included in Flexbone Close and Flexbone Normal

How is the option game out of the I formations and Ace formations? Thanks in advance.

Auburn's playbook seems to have a extra wildcat formation then the ones listed in shotgun in the video does this mean there are formations specific to certian teams that cant be add to custom playbooks unless you start with that teams playbook? I think the one in auburns was name wildcat trey somthing-or-nother, maybe wildcat trips? Idk but in the auburn vs oregon video its there but not in the custom playbooks menu.

Good eye. You can see Auburn's Wildcat Tiger Trey formation in the video below at 3:44. I couldn't spot it in the custom playbooks video (Wildcat and Wildcat Spread are there). Maybe it's hidden in another formation? I hope so ... The devs did say we'd be able to take any play/formation in the game.

In fact, I think it HAS to be in the game. If you were to crack open Auburn's default playbook in custom playbooks, it'd be there ... right?

I loved that play in NCAA Football 11, hope it's in for Dime as I might just stick to 4-3 this year with improved zone coverage though blitzes seem to work best so maybe i will go back to 4-2-5 or 3-3-5 maybe even...

    Defensive Playbook Creation

From the two 4-2-5 formations reviewed in this vid, I don't see double slots. Has the play also been eradicated from the other 4-2-5 formations as well?

In general, I notice that there are very few Cover 1 edge blitzes in the 4-3 and 4-2-5 playbooks. I did notice that there was one in 4-3 Under that is not in the default playbooks but which you can add in custom playbooks (so it must be in the Multiple playbook). I am interested to know why these plays were removed, and whether there are any cover 1 safety blitzes in any of the 4-2-5 formations that were not shown in the video. I am thinking that I might get creative and make a defensive playbook that replaces some of the Nickel formations with 4-2-5 formations.

Also, it's not a strictly playbook thing, but with regards to the 4-2-5 and the 3-3-5, I wonder if it would be possible to go into practice mode and look at what happens with the man alignment against various types of offensive formations (trips, twins, quads, y-trips, formations with trips to one side and a TE on the other, etc...). I understand if it would take too long, but I'm particularly interested to see what kinds of alignments you get from Cover 1, Cover 2, and various forms of Cover 0 man to man. I'm more interested in the 4-2-5 than the 3-3-5, though others may differ.

From some of the gameplay videos, I am concerned about the extent to which the 4-2-5 is a viable base defense this year due to the man alignment issues.

Excellent video! Thanks much for this.

With the 4-4 and 4-6 there seemed to be only one formation for each (split and Bear). That seems like a regression considering older versions had a lot more formations for the 4-6 and the 4-4 at least had 4-4 Stack.

Seems like Okie Across is missing from 4-2-5...is that because you chose a 4-3 base playbook?

I think 4-2-5 Across and 4-2-5 Okie Across are the same thing... at least comparing a screenshot from the 25 plays released by EA to the video, they appear to have the same alignment.

Aside from Goalline & Special Teams, you should have every formation available to you to decide which ones to include and not include.

Negative to both of your questions. It's not missing (it's apparently only called "Across" now), nor does it have anything to do with choosing 4-3 as base.

I didn't think of that. The name "okie" not being around threw me off. Thanks fellas.

Thought some might like a list of all the D formations you can select in custom playbooks.

    3-3-5
    Across
    Bear
    Okie
    Split
    Stack

    3-4
    Even
    Normal
    Over
    Predator
    Solid
    Under

    4-2-5
    Across
    Normal
    Over
    Under
    Under Slide

    4-3
    Normal
    Over
    Under

    4-4
    Split

    46
    Bear

    5-2
    Normal

    Dime
    3-2-6
    Normal

    Nickle
    1-5-5
    1-5-5 Prowl
    2-4-5
    3-3-5
    Normal
    Strong

    Quarter
    3 Deep
    Normal

    Total: 32

so in other words, you can have EVERY Defense in one playbook (minus the play count)

Anything with less then 4 linemen outside of Quarters is out of my defensive playbook.
