I would guess 2-3 ypc isn't the norm and the issues are seeing guys getting stopped for no gains and negative yardage and you see an occasional 2 or 3 yard carry.

Very fishy that NCAA is not open for everyone\

Bad news: Spread CPU teams still had a hard time running from the shotgun in the game I played. Still better than NCAA11 though.

Sliding is not apparent when you are playing. Momentum just feels good. As I said, vids don't do it justice.
I wonder how the crowd noise sounds? Does the crowd erupt on huge plays? Did they improve on that? What about the commentary?

Here is what McLeod said on twitter about it:

"just wanted to bring more attention to Madden--no other reason. NCAA is looking good."

There are actually a few people being very active on Twitter with their impressions on NCAA Football 12. I imagine there'll be a good amount of impressions from E3 at sites like OperationSports.com before the night is through.

Here's a comment thread on Twitter from Christian McLeod of OS.com, actually:
Treadstone6700 said: @Bumble14_OS - any guesses as to why they put NCAA behind closed doors? I feel like that franchise is being neglected right now

Bumble14_OS said: @Treadstone6700 just wanted to bring more attention to Madden--no other reason. NCAA is looking good.

From the Community Events it did sound like crowd noise has been addressed this year. There's more "depth of sound" to some of the chants and 3rd-down cheering so that it sounds more organic. It also seemed that the fight songs were tuned to sound more like they were a part of the stadium experience than they were in NCAA Football 11 where it felt like the music was being piped in over the rest of the noise.

With the new defensive play it was hard to explode on very many "huge plays," but it did seem like the crowd was more reactive than in previous years.

Commentary didn't seem to have a complete overhaul of new stuff, but there are definitely new lines from Erin Andrews and the guys as it pertains to the overall flow of the game when they're recounting big plays.

The new stadium levels will help as well with this. Small crowd vs medium vs large crowd sound effects! I am extremely pumped up to hear the game this year.

Yep looks like the Demo is going to be HUGE to many in the community as very little has been seen as far as actual gameplay video.

Tomymac over at OS said that he was there and they stuck NCAA in a dark hot room in the back... He said that it was so hot in there that Ben needed paper towels every minute.... He also said that Madden looks and plays better than NCAA... Whats up with them treating NCAA this way at E3, something is fishy???

2-3 would be very, very low if true. 75 of the 120 BCS teams averaged over 4 ypc last year. Only 9 teams averaged less than 3 while 21 averaged more than 5 ypc and three teams averaged more than 6 ypc.

That doesn't sound right at all. I'm not too worried since the community guys here seem to really like what they have played.

I think he was referring to running out of the spread/shotgun, not straight-up CPU running.

At the last Community Event, I felt the CPU running attack was pretty solid at times, especially out of power sets.

Nothing's fishy. There aren't any "light" rooms around those places. They're all dark lol. If it's not on the main floor it's gonna be in a dark back room. And Ben is probably going to sweat if it's warm, he's a big guy. And some guys prefer Madden play style over Ncaa in SOME areas of the game. That's a very general statement and it's been told to us by very reliable sources that NCAA plays so much better than 11. I liked 11 so that's good enough for me!

Don't read into general statements with people that haven't gotten enough time on either (or both) games to get a feel for why the difference is there and what the difference even is. This guy prolly got 1 qtr on ncaa (if that), and a full game + on Madden.

NCAA has had A TON of coverage to this point where Madden has not had hardly any public coverage. They are just bringing Madden to the forefront for a couple days. Especially with the lockout, there's just not very many good things on the NFL front going on, making Madden an afterthought. Let's just let it play out and see for ourselves.

Probably true.... I also feel that NCAA kicked Madden's butt last year and that is a reason for all the hype at E3...

I have no clue if the OS poster is legit, but I have seen a couple mentions that the EA SPORTS room was very hot.

From what I can tell - based on various tweets - they wanted E3 to be more about Madden, which is somewhat understandable given the NFL uncertainty. Though, I agree with the sentiment that NCAA should have been given somewhat of a visible E3 focus.

Community Manager Justin Dewiel did tweet this earlier:

we'll have more on NCAA Football 12 later in the week. we've been releasing short teaser videos on Facebook for Road to Glory and we'll have some unedited gameplay live from E3 later in the week. Don't worry, plenty to share on that front too.

I'm not real worried about the CPU running game. We have RBL and RBA sliders for a reason.

I will say this about Christian McLeod on OS - I trust him. He's been around awhile and really liked NCAA 11 while he didn't like Madden 11 much at all. He's Bumble14_OS on twitter and he's really good imo. That's why it is disappointing to hear him say NCAA 12 feels like a polished NCAA 11 (not necessarily bad) but that it didn't blow him away while Madden 12 was a HUGE improvement over Madden 11 in his opinion.

    OS Q & A wrap up highlights:

    Madden and NCAA Q & A on OS: http://www.operationsports.com/news/...qa-815-pm-est/

    - No in game saves
    - 3D grass looks amazing
    - On if Madden gameplay has changed "Yes, yes, yes. Players have momentum and weight to them, and different player types play as they should. MJD plays like the bowling ball he is--Jhavid Best is quick and agile--and receivers like Mike Williams can make some spectacular catches."
    - The game and animations sets really elevate the overall on field product.
    - on overall impression of NCAA 12 "Extremely polished version of NCAA11. Wasn't blown away, but really liked what I played. "
    - super jumping LBs appear to be gone, warping reduced
    - animations are improved and impressive
    - no demo news
    - field degredation, grass stains, etc. very nice
    - gameflow in Madden better - can have the cpu select conservative, normal or aggressive plays for you
    - Christian (big NCAA fan and didn't like Madden last year) felt Madden 12 is a bigger jump than NCAA 11 from previous versions
    - cpu AI was a focus and cpu teams will play more to their style.
    - Madden camera angles are impressive
    - both games look great and new lighting in NCAA is great
    - collision tackling looks good
    - return games seems a bit better
    - negative NCAA news - still sees cpu shotgun rushing game as being too weak (not a shock to me but still disappointing given the ton of spread running teams in college football)
    - Christian thinks Madden plays better but NCAA still good. Said Madden is a huge leap this year.
    - both Madden and NCAA use the same momentum engine
    - NCAA 12 is a more polished version of NCAA 11. Madden 12 huge leap forward.
