Yeah, but when it takes almost nothing to add it to the console, why not just include it. To add PS2 games though, they have specific additional hardware which obviously costs additional money for little return. Rumors have suggested possible software emulation in the works but who knows if that ever happens.
Q&A for PSN outage
Q: When will the PlayStation Network and Qriocity be back online?
A: Our employees have been working day and night to restore operations as quickly as possible, and we expect to have some services up and running within a week from yesterday. However, we want to be very clear that we will only restore operations when we are confident that the network is secure.
Read an article in the local paper today about hundreds of people cancelling their credit cards due to the fear that their info has been scooped. Apparently one of the local card reps have a PS3 option now for the phone menu.
Yes, because 70 million e-mails send instantaneously. I didn't get the e-mail until 9pm.
EDIT: FWIW, I still haven't received an e-mail on my second account.
Yeah, local news was suggesting people cancel their credit cards that were on PSN. Overreaction for the win!

I wont get it. Bet me. I haven't received an email from Sony in months, possibly over a year. The absolutely only thing I ever get is store purchase confirmations.
Got my e-mails late last night. I'm not worried either. I monitor my accounts daily (mint.com - is a GREAT budgeting/financial site to help you keep organized for free). I also check my credit report once per year.
I'm like JB and use my check card, not worried really.
I've received two random friend type requests the last two days on my yahoo email account that I used for my PSN.
Oddly enough the 5-6 years or so I've had this account that has never happened lol

I'm not saying I'm being singled out. I posted another time here that I never ever got emails from Sony. I don't know if it's a glitch in their system or what, but there's other people that have the same exact problem. I even requested a "Forgot Password" email several times just to test it and never got a single one.
The deal still stands, I'll bet any amount of money because I'm 100% sure I'm not getting it.![]()
From a blog last night, it looks like there isn't any evidence that credit card info was taken. It's a possibility, but at least on the surface, they found no evidence of it.
Yeah, apparently there's going to be a firmware update whenever it comes back up that makes everyone change their password.
