Well, for one, if you and a buddy are chatting back and forth, it would be much easier to use a mic instead of giong back and forth with IMs. That would be my main reason... I hate typing out anything substantial on the PSN text. I have a USB keyboard but its rarely hooked up.

I just don't want to talk to people while gaming. I don't even particularly like talking to people in online games. I just find it to be distracting.

Or if you're playing a shooter or OTP, you don't have to hear the other douche bags.....but unfortunately the PSN version is limited to four users.

Wow at Madden getting nominated over NCAA. Call me crazy but Madden 11 just hasn't "wow'd" me yet with the touted features.

Kevin Butler is hilarious. The smartest move Sony has made this generation is hiring him as the spokesperson. The crowd went nuts when he came on stage at E3.
